Hello readers! It’s Thursday once again, and time for a book tag. I’ve searched all over the internet and cannot find who created this tag. But let me know if you know, and I’ll link it!
I was surprised when I came across this one that I haven’t done it before. I’m really excited for this one because it centers your personal blog, and I’m coming up on my blogiversary this month! I can’t believe I’ve been doing this as long as I have.
How long have you been a book blogger?
This month, I am going to hit my 6th blogiversary this month! I started back in August 2020 on Wix and then moved here in February 2021. I’ve had my ups and downs, but this is genuinely one of my favorite hobbies.
At what point do you think you will stop?
I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! I may take breaks here and there, but I won’t quit. Even if my life gets very hectic, I would still try to post here as often as I can. This blog is important to me and so is the book community.
What is the best thing?
The best thing about being a blogger is the diversity of content. I’ve made content just about everywhere over the years, and there is a trend on most platforms to only read the same things.
I love reading other blogs and seeing what they are reading. I commonly find books I’ve never heard of before. I really struggle with disliking a lot of the most popular authors, so I like recommendations that are less popular mixed in.
I also love the diversity of ages. I can post about a book with much older or younger protagonists than myself and hear a unique opinion in the comments about it.
I did the Over 30 Book Tag earlier this year, and it really seemed to resonate with many of my readers. I think most of us are older, which is a great thing to be a part of.
How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?
It depends for this one. This is a tag post, so I can go onto Canva and change the title on the thumbnail I already use for tags in 30 seconds or less.
For a brand new thumbnail, it’ll take me 20 or 30 minutes. I just start throwing things together until I like it. I really try to make most of my thumbnails look similar nowadays, so that does make it a little bit trickier at times.
Which author would you like to have on your blog?
I have been thinking about this recently! I don’t know exactly how to reach out to authors. But I’d love to have some smaller indie authors on my blog. I have mostly read cozy mystery and romance indie authors, and I’d love to talk about them more.
Lavanya Lakshminarayan is one specific example. I read Interstellar Megachef right after it came out in 2024. It now has a sequel that I really want to get to soon.
I would love to have this author on my blog to promote her work more. This book was such a unique scifi story mixed with a foodie book. Book one has less than 1k ratings!
I’d also like to join a book blog tour. I’ve done one before on Instagram, but never on here.
What do you wear when you write your blog?
I found this term recently on TikTok, which is Winnie the Pooh mom, and that is what I am. If I am in my house, I’m most likely wearing only a giant t-shirt.
I mainly began this habit because tight or even well-fitting clothing makes my GERD and sciatica worse. I am chronically ill. I have GERD, IBS, and chronic sciatica. The loose clothing doesn’t add pressure to my midsection, which helps my symptoms.

How long does it take you to prepare?
I don’t take a long time in the pre-planning process for most posts I do. I have a calendar I like to plan posts on in Google Sheets, but that is pretty much it.
Most posts take me about 30 minutes to an hour to write, but it can take much longer at times.
How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?
Despite its flaws, I love the book community. I love that we can all be very different in opinions and openly discuss them. There are many online communities where you can’t have an opposing opinion without being dragged through the mud.
This community is very relaxed and the opposite of toxic. I love that. Of course, we still have drama and crazy things that go on.
An example is my boyfriend posts videos about video games. I’ve been exposed to the video game community a lot lately, and I hate it. This is a male-centered hobby and community, and the behavior is…odd.
These people will get angry every time they see a woman or a black person in a video game. I don’t know how he puts up with this nonsense.
What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?
Not putting so much pressure on yourself. If you become burnt out, it’s perfectly fine to stop posting for a while. Take a week or a month off and come back. Just don’t quit!
Through the years, I have taken a month or two off many times. But I’ve never wanted to quit. I’ve also seen some of my favorite bloggers go from posting 5-7 times a week to getting so burned out they quit.
A schedule is great in a perfect world, but posting when you can is okay, too. I have done both in the past.
