Hello readers! It’s been a while since I did a Down the TBR Hole post. Last time we ended at 211 books, and I’m now at 215. This round of Down the TBR Hole has been much more productive than the series has been in the past. I’m hoping to continue this into the future.
Each time I’ve done this series in 2026, I’ve had some sort of theme. In the next few in the series, I’d like to go over the first books in series I haven’t started. Starting a new series is a big commitment, so I’d like to minimize how many I do.

Priory of the Orange Tree is a book I’ve had on my physical TBR for many years now and still really want to get to. It’s a fantasy book, which was originally a standalone.
I am hoping to get to it in 2026, which might not happen. However, I will read it at some point in the future for sure!
Show Me a Sign is the first book in a series following a deaf community on an island called Martha’s Vineyard. I know the island is a real place, but I believe the story is real.
The island was filled with a large number of deaf people. Therefore, it became extremely common for everyone who lived there to know ASL.
I will absolutely be keeping this one on my list. I love reading books with disability representation.
Book Scavenger is the first book in a middle grade series that I also own. I have been on the fence about this one for a while. I almost added it to my latest unhaul.
I’m going to keep this one for now, but I might go back through at the end of the year and remove some books, including this one. I’ve just owned it so long, and I never think about reading it.
Book Scavenger is a book series about a girl named Emily who moves to a new town and joins this scavenger hunt to find books that hold clues to a new game. This sounds very similar to the Mr. Lemoncello series, so I think I’ll love it. But I never think about reading it.
From Blood and Ash is the first book in the Blood and Ash series. It’s a romance series following Poppy, who is a maiden. She is supposed to remain free of any sins so she can one day Ascend, even if she doesn’t really know what that means. It’s also a romance between her and her guard.
I read more than half of this book last year, and I was enjoying it, but I just never went back to it. One thing that made me think I wouldn’t continue is the racism that I noticed. For example, her personal servant being named Tawny. Tawny is a shade of brown and is usually a word that describes skin color.
I haven’t picked this one up in over a year and actually recently unhauled the book. I really thought I’d love it, but I just didn’t.
Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is yet another first book in a series that I own. It’s a romance book between a woman named Delilah, who travels back to her hometown to be the photographer for her sister’s wedding, and Astrid, who is Delilah’s sister’s best friend.
This is a sapphic sort of enemies-to-lovers romance. Or, at least strong dislike. Also, Astrid is a single mom. I love seeing single parents in romances.
I will absolutely be keeping this one and hopefully read it in the near future. I haven’t been in the biggest mood for romance lately, but when I am, I will absolutely pick this up.
Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi is a historical fantasy book that centers on pirates. There is also a mystery plot involving a woman who has gone missing.
I just don’t know if I want to read this anymore, and if I do, I don’t think it will be anytime soon. I really don’t know what about it made me want to read it in the first place.
I will be removing this one because I don’t see myself reading it anytime soon, but who knows. I have actually checked it out from the library 3 or 4 times, and I never start it when I’ve done that.
Rage of Dragons is a fantasy series I have been meaning to pick up for way too long.
It follows this society where one in every 2,000 women who are born can call down dragons and one in every 100 men born can transform into a killing machine. I’m imagining it’s like berserk mode in video games.
I am very interested in this one still. Book three is projected to be published next year or so, so it would be a great time to get to it.
The Archive Undying is the first book in a scifi series about a robotic god.
I have no idea what exactly drew me to this series in the first place. I added it three years ago now, and I’m genuinely not certain.
I will be going ahead and removing it because I don’t really feel interested in it anymore, or even remember why I wanted to read it at all.
Dark Lover is the first book in a very long vampire series called Black Dagger Brotherhood. I read the prequel called Darius a few years ago now and just haven’t gotten around to continuing.
I absolutely want to try this series some more in the future. Vampire books were such a staple in my life in my teen years and early 20s. So, I’d love to get back to that place. I even have a dedicated vampire shelf in my bedroom because I love them so much.
The last one for this post is Mortal Follies. I actually don’t know a single thing about this book. I think I just really loved this cover?
Looking at the Goodreads page, it’s a historical fantasy romance. I don’t think I would enjoy this even if I read it. I am not the biggest historical fiction fan, especially for romance.
