Hello readers! Let’s talk about some new releases. I realized that I didn’t do a post like this for summer books. I didn’t have many to talk about. This time I have quite a few, including some Christmas-y books.
What is your favorite new release you read this year? I’ve only read two, but I’m currently reading a third. I gave the two I read two stars, so I can’t say I have a favorite this year yet.

I saw that Acevedo has a new book coming out and immediately added it to my list. I’ve read all of her books except Family Lore so far.
This one follows a teen girl named Lil, who keeps finding herself behind bars. The only person she feels truly understands her is her brother, who is multiple states away in college.
Her brother starts having some type of issues, and she has to choose between helping him and keeping up with her probation.
I am really excited for this one. It’s been too many years since she has published anything, and I always love everything she does.

Mr. Lemoncello’s Wondermous Christmas was a surprise for me! The series ended in 2024, so I didn’t expect a new book. I know this one is adjacent to, but not in, the series.
We follow Eloise, whose family has uprooted their lives five times in five years. This particular move is right before Christmas, and Eloise gets a letter to come to Mr. Lemoncello’s holiday party.
I’m excited to get my hands on this one as soon as it releases. I’m most likely going to preorder it. I know it’ll be another fun and puzzle-filled addition to the series.

I also saw Becky Chambers has a new book releasing in October. So, of course, I want to read it.
This one follows both Signy and Cora. Signy is a botanist who 3D prints medicines. Cora is the pilot navigating across space when she comes across Signy’s shop.
It is also said to have multiple timelines that eventually merge. And is also LGBT. I’m excited to try this one and see where it goes. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by Chambers so far.

Home for the Homicides is one I am really excited for. I want to see more of these spooky Christmas books!
This one is the first book in a cozy mystery series following Holly and Mark, who live in a town called Christmas. They both have been given the job to solve a murder before the annual Jingle Bell Jubilee, but are also competing to solve it for a promotion at the same time.
It’s also a romance between them. It’s called The Holly & Mark Mystery Series, so we should be following them in every book going forward.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
