Hello readers! I was looking back on my blog and was very surprised that I’ve never done this topic before. So, let’s talk about authors whom I love to read or buy every book they write. These are authors whose books I just pick up because they wrote them, even if I have no idea what the book is about.
Do you have any auto-buy authors? I’m sure every reader has at least one!
Brandon Sanderson
I started reading Sanderson in 2020 and quickly fell in love with his books. My first book by him was The Way of Kings, which took me over a month of reading nearly every day.
Since then, I have read 13 of his books, and I own 16 of them. He publishes books faster than I can read or buy them, but I hope to get around to many more in the near future.
Stephen King
I first read Stephen King in 2006 when I was 12. I made a post a few months ago about every book I’ve read by Stephen King and my plans to start reading him again. I’m not sure why, but I stopped prioritizing reading his books quite a few years ago, but I didn’t stop buying them.
I own about 40 of his books now, with the ambition to own every one eventually. I believe there are over 70 total, which is insane.
I also really want to reread Lisey’s Story this year, since I read it 20 years ago. I really loved it back then, and I’m very curious how I will feel about it now.
Rebecca F. Kenney
I started reading Kenney back in 2023. I really discovered all types of romance books that year. She writes these romances that are very bizarre, but also smutty retellings.
A Court of Sugar and Spice is a gender bent retelling of The Nutcracker. It’s a very dark portal fantasy, with a lot of romance, action, and weird moments. These are the types of books you’ll either love or hate.
I’ve now read 8 of her books, and I’m currently reading a 9th one. I only own 2 of them, but I hope to buy many more in the future. She is an indie author, so I don’t see her books often at the bookstore. I mostly buy books in person these days.
Sophie Kinsella
I first read Sophie Kinsella in 2015 with Finding Audrey. I remember reading this because a lot of Booktubers were reading it at the time. I am a person who really struggles with social anxiety, so I wanted to try this one.
I honestly don’t know if I’d still love this one if I read it today, but it did lead me to her other books. Despite not really being a romance reader, I just loved her books.
I’ve now read 14 of her books, and I own 16 of them. I usually just buy 2 or 3 of her books I haven’t read, read them, and then do it again.
John Marrs
This one is a bit different because I don’t own any of his books, but I would really like to. Well, I do have them on Audible, but not physically. Marrs is an author whose books I will read just about anything he publishes. He writes thrillers and scifi thrillers.
I first started reading Marrs in 2021, and I’ve now read 6 of his books. I try to read at least one by him each year. I never see his books at the bookstore on sale or used, which is typically what I prefer to buy. Down the line, I plan to add his books to my collection.
