Hello readers! I thought today that I’d make a TBR for July, but I’m going to go ahead and make one for the whole summer.
Last week, I posted about how I have fallen out of love with reading. And you guys really seemed to love that post. I thought about posting that for a long time, and I was hoping it would be relatable to someone.
These are the books at the top of my TBR that I hope to get to in the next few months.
Silverborn is the fourth book in the Nevermoor series. I finally got my hands on a copy this month after reading the previous three last year.
I both want to read this and am dreading it. I am really excited for it because I love this series. But I’m also dreading it because it’s the last book that is published, and this one took FIVE years to publish.
This one was published last year, and I hope the next one will not take nearly as long to publish.
Lisey’s Story was the first book I read by Stephen King, 20 years ago now, when I was 12. This was the author and book that got me into reading, so I thought I should reread it.
I want to reread it both because it has been such a long time AND because I would like to revisit what made me into a reader.
Lisey’s Story follows Lisey, whose husband has been murdered recently. She investigates into his world that she knew nothing about before he died and discovers many things she was not prepared for.
This one doesn’t come out until late August, but I am still going to add it here. Bit Little Truths is a sequel to Big Little Lies.
I read book one back in 2021 and really enjoyed it, so I’m excited to see where this one goes.
If you haven’t read it yet, Big Little Lies is a mystery novel. It’s one of those mystery books where the murder happens at the beginning of the book and then you zoom back to a year before it happened.
That is honestly one of my favorite formats for a mystery book. This one takes place 10 years after the previous book.
This summer, I would also love to finish the Kane Chronicles trilogy. I’ve been working toward reading every Percy Jackson book since December 2024.
I honestly don’t think this series is essential for reading through Percy Jackson. When I was looking into the reading order, these were listed. But they follow Egyptian gods instead of Greek ones.
There is apparently a crossover of the characters in a book not in this series, but I still don’t think for me that I needed to read it over books with the Greek gods in it.
One thing I’d like to do in 2026 is start some of the middle-grade series I own the first book in. This is probably the one I’ve owned the longest, so I should get to it.
I have seen the movie for this one, so I know it’s about a girl named Meggie whose father has a power where he can read characters out of books and into the real world. Unfortunately, the power also works in reverse.
Meggie and her father have to manage and try to fix the problems that come with characters being in the real world, and real-world people being trapped inside books.
I have a few others I’d love to get to this summer that I own, but I don’t know how to choose!
