Hello readers! It’s time to talk about the books I’m going to read in June. The Tarot readathon is happening again this year, and I decided I wanted to do it.
I’m going to go ahead and pick 5 books for the readathon, and then I’ll pull more cards if I get to all the books. I am using this mini tarot deck I got from Books-A-Million a long time ago. It’s actually the exact one Daijah is using in her video.
This readathon was created by Daijah and Noelle on Booktube. I had so much fun participating last year. I just really miss the era of the book community that was filled with readathons, readalongs, reading sprints, and book clubs.

Prompt: Buy/borrow a book off your wishlist, and read it.
I recently borrowed this from the library, so I think it counts. I’ve been hoping to grab a copy for a while now and finally did.
This is a graphic novel memoir by George Takei about his life. I read They Called Us Enemy a few years back and was excited to see he published a new one last year.
Takei has had an interesting and impactful life, so I love reading from his perspective.

Prompt: Pick multiple books and blindly/randomly pick one from the pile (blindfolded, partner picking, animal picking, etc.).
I decided to pick 7 series that I really need to continue and put them on a wheel.
This is the third and final book in the Bill Hodges trilogy, which I’ve really been needing to get to for a long time.
This series follows Bill Hodges, who is a retired cop, that is solving murders with a few other people. One of them being Holly, who now has her own series. I started this book a few months back and need to finish it!

Prompt: Read a book that has mixed media elements or pictures.
I’m hoping that a graphic novel counts for a book with pictures. I’m currently up to book 5 of Amulet, and I’m hoping to binge through the rest of the series in the first week of June.
I’ve had them all out from the library for almost two months, so I really need to get them read and returned.

Prompt: Read a book featuring a strong female character, a matriarchy, or women in power.
For this one, I want to reread Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. In this book, you follow Raoden and Sarene.
Roaden is a prince who wakes up one day as an Elantrian, which is sort of like a zombie. He is then taken to the city of Elantris to live his life.
Sarene is a woman from another kingdom who was on her way to marry Roaden. When she arrives, she is told that he died. I believe Sarene is a pretty strong female character. She is also allowed to keep her political status despite not being married to the prince.

Prompt: Read a book that will fill your cup with joy.
I wasn’t sure what to pick for this at first. I don’t really read a lot of fluffy books. But, I do this Japanese Gothic can count because it is my most anticipated book of 2026, so it’ll make me very happy to get to it!
I know this follows two people in different timelines and they are seeing one another as ghosts, or something similar. I’ll let you guys know more once I’ve read it.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
