Hello readers! It is time again for Down the TBR Hole. We are getting close to the end of this journey, and I’m happy to see how clean my Want to Read shelf is now. We have removed almost 30 books in the last few posts, so let’s cut it down a bit more!
If you’ve never heard of Down the TBR Hole before, the idea is to go through your Want to Read shelf 50 to 10 (or more)books at a time and remove the ones you don’t think you’ll ever get around to reading. This meme was created by Lost in a Book. Check out their post if you’d like to see more details! I don’t believe it is currently being hosted by anyone.
Last time, we ended with 135 books and this time, we are starting with 139.

Pages and Co in the description seems very similar to Inkheart. It is about a girl who can read characters from books and is trying to solve the mystery of her mother’s disappearance a few years earlier.
I love stories like this one, and I’m keeping it! It’s sort of like a reverse portal fantasy, and I’m here for it.

This one is a middle-grade polar fantasy book series. At the time, I thought I really wanted to read it. However, I want to limit what kind of fantasy I read. For the last book, it has a trope I love that’s different.
I prefer contemporary and more of light fantasy in middle-grade books, so I’m going to remove this one.

This one is about a school play. I think I added this when I was trying to read books about characters who are religious. I enjoy seeing how religion changes the way people react to certain situations.
However, I don’t really love books that center around plays, so I’m removing it. I haven’t heard any reviews about this one, and if I see any glowing ones, I might change my mind, but I don’t really think I will.

If you saw my last post, Clean Getaway was on there for books I never finished. This one is about Scoob, who goes on a road trip with his grandma one day. She is white and tells him a lot of stories about how segregation affected her biracial son, and even her husband.
It was a really good book, but I just never finished it for some reason or another.

All I know about this book is killer mermaids. I read a book with killer mermaids last year, and I would love to read more like it.
I will be keeping this one for sure because I do think I’ll love it once I get to it.

This is a fantasy romance series retelling Disney stories. Basically, it’s the protagonist in a romance with the villain. This first one is Jafar and Jasmine. I think this is a really interesting dynamic.
I am SOOO intrigued by this series that I will be reading one eventually. I haven’t read any fantasy romance in a few months and this makes me want to!

If I remember correctly, this is a book about a man who is captured as a prisoner of war. I haven’t read any classics this year, which is so unlike me.
I’m going to keep this one for now and hope I get to it at some point in the future.

The Passing Playbook is about a trans person who moves to a new school and uses this as an opportunity to hide that they are trans.
I tried to get an ARC of this, and it didn’t work! However, I’m still excited to get to it in the future.

This one is about two girls who become friends when they take the same cooking class together.
It was on my TBR for this month, but I didn’t quite get to it. I still want to read this one day. One of my absolute favorite tropes in books is cooking/baking.
I hope more foodie book readathons happen in the future because this will be the perfect book for it!

I added this book when my daughter acquired it. I love to read middle-grade books, so I have a plan to read all of her books.
However, I don’t really know if I’m interested in this one. It is also about a play, and I’m just interested in other books MUCH more than this one. I’m going to go ahead and remove this one.
Start: 139
Finish: 136
Overall removed: 30
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
