Hello readers! Today, I thought I would share with you 3 books that I really loved this year and made it to my favorites shelf on Goodreads. I only added 3 books to that shelf in the whole of 2020!

I randomly decided to listen to this audiobook earlier this year and I loved everything about it. It is multi-perspective about this test where you can be DNA matched to your soulmate. It was so interesting because it really pointed out of its own flaws!
Imagine if you took the test and you were matched with a murderer, someone dead, sick or terminally ill, someone decades older or younger than you, didn’t match your sexual orientation, wasn’t your current spouse, was mentally or physically disabled?
There are multiple perspectives and many of them are put in one of the situations I listed. I loved that he managed to twist my emotions to agree with people I shouldn’t have. My favorite part was when the chapter ended and there would be shocking reveal and then it would switch perspectives. I almost listened to this book in one sitting!
I did try to watch the show and it is VERY different and I was not here for it. This book was sooo good and I’m sad to see that they changed so much!
This one is for the entire series. I read all 5 books in one month.
Orange is about Naho, who is sent these letters from her future self telling her how to prevent the early death of a boy she just met named Kakeru. Future Naho gives current Naho all types of details of ways she can do things differently in her life to have less regrets.
I love how they showed that depression and suffering can be something that people hide. Sometimes people are afraid to ask for help even when they are desperate for it.
There is also a wonderful love triangle in the series and it just broke my heart. This whole series had me up and down with all my emotions and I hope to eventually watch the anime so I can relive it all again!
I kind of regret reading Throne of Glass AFTER this book. This is clearly SJM’s best work and I’m not sure how she could top it. I read this book along with a bunch of people in Instagram and I had such a great time talking everything out with everyone.
I loved seeing such a modern world with all the fantastical elements and creatures. I loved seeing Bryce and Hunt’s banter. One of my favorite things in books is sassy characters, and this book is packed with them. My favorite character is Ruhn, so I hope we get to see more of him in the future books!
I also loved the murder/mystery aspect, too. I didn’t see the twist coming and suspected all the wrong people! It is slow to start, but the last 200 pages are where all the action is. I don’t mind slow books most of the time, but I like to let everyone reading my reviews know about that sort of thing.
By the end, I couldn’t decide what I was feeling. There is devastation, betrayal, happiness, redemption, and peace. I was devastated yet happy at the end.
For those of you who are looking for smut, you won’t find much in this book, but I’m sure there will be more in future books. I don’t really care for smut myself, but I know other people do!
SJM is just one of those author that adds in all the tropes I like and that is why I loved ACOTAR and this book sooo much. I have since read Throne of Glass, and I didn’t love it, but I’m going to keep reading the books and hope for the best.
