2026 Reading Goals Update

Hello readers! It’s almost halfway through 2026, so I thought I might as well do a little update on my reading goals. I only had 4 for 2026 because I wasn’t fully sure what to add to them.

Also, how is everyone doing? I am currently 16 weeks along and doing well. The second trimester has been much kinder to me than the first one was.

This goal was to read 50 books in 2026. I am doing really well on this! I have almost read half of my goal. I’m at 23 with another book about to be finished.

Honestly, I have been going to the library a lot and reading plenty of graphic novels. This year has had a lot of ups and downs with reading, but I’m happy I’m making progress!

This goals was to read books that I own. I said in that post I had 91 books at the end of 2025, but I actually ended with 95. I have read, hauled, and unhauled plenty of books. I’m currently at 94 unread books.

I believe 90 of the unread books I own are ones I owned before the beginning of 2026. In 2026, I’ve read 4 of my owned books, but I’ve also reread 3 books I own.

This goal was very specific. I wanted to try to read 4 days a week and not skip more than 2 days in a row. Have I done that? No.

However, as it shows in goal #1, I have been reading more. I’m not reading 4 days a week by far, but I am still making progress. Knowing that, I can’t be upset.

I am just hoping to continue reading more in 2026 than I did in 2025, and slowly read more the next year and so on. I have come to terms with the fact that I can’t read 100-200 books a year anymore.

I didn’t finish a book last month, but I did start a new one. And for the first time in a long time, I didn’t have that feeling while I was reading that I wanted to be doing anything else.

For this last goal, I wanted to finish 6 series. I am absolutely behind on that. However, I have finished one.

I actually realized that I put a book on my TBR for June that I read already! Back in March, I finished the Bill Hodges trilogy, and then I completely forgot. So, I put the last book on my TBR. I remember now. It was oddly paranormal when the previous two weren’t.

I’m going to work on this a bit more in the second half. I am close to finishing the Amulet series at the moment. Other than that, I’m not sure what other series I’ll be aiming to finish.

Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
