The Last Down the TBR Hole (#10)

Hello readers! Today’s post is the last Down the TBR Hole, at least for a while. This really helped me tidy up my Want to Read shelf these last few months. I’m thinking of doing 1 or 2 rounds in December, just so I know it’s as tidy as it can be. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me the past few months while I sort through all these books.

If you don’t know, Down the TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story and is meant to help you go through your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads 5-10 books at a time and remove books from it.

During these past months, I have removed almost 40 books from my Want to Read shelf. I have almost equally added more onto the shelf, but I feel like it represents what I am looking forward to better than ever.

Black Water Sister is about a girl who learns she is a medium by hearing her grandmother’s voice in her head. She has been tasked by the grandmother to settle a score for a deity she used to serve that was disrespected.

This book only came out a few months ago and I’m still excited to read it. I’m going to keep it as it hasn’t really been out long enough for me to get to it.

This is the type of book I usually don’t like, but it has so many good authors, so I want to try it anyhow. It is full of short stories by many different, well-known LGBT authors.

This book is being released in October, so I will get to it when it comes out, hopefully!

This is yet another JLA series on my Want to Read shelf. I believe this is a greek myth retelling as a paranormal romance. I do want to read this, but I’m removing it for now.

I really want to read the rest of the Lux series before I move on to any other books by her. A TON of people on Goodreads have compared this to Vampire Academy, and that just makes me more excited to read it! However, I won’t be getting to it until I read Lux.

Ghost is about a kid who has a natural affinity for running very fast. The MC is running from his past while literally running on the track and beating other people in races.

I just really want to try something by Reynolds. I have only heard good things and I’m still hoping to pick this one up, so I am keeping this one.

If I Had Your Face is a story about 4 different women just trying to navigate life in South Korea. It is all about how the way you look is key on how you are treated and I assume it has some things to say about the plastic surgery capital of the world.

I really hope to read this book by the end of they ear. It has gone onto so many TBRs and I just need to get to it. I am absolutely keeping it until further notice.

I saw Booksandlala reading this book in a video. I recently read Caste by Isabel Wilkerson. Wilkerson talked about race and how it was made up by white Americans. I’m thinking this book will touch that subject and hopefully add to that conversation.

I’m hoping to read this soon, but it isn’t on Hoopla or Libby. I would prefer to listen to it seeing how it is 80 pages.

Chlorine Sky is about a girl who has always been in her best friends shadow and is trying come out of the shadow and show herself for who she is. It’s also written in verse, which is most likely why I added it in the first place.

I’m less likely to get to it because it’s YA, but I’ll go ahead and keep it for now and I’ll reassess in December.

This is the 2nd book in the Farseer trilogy. This series is about a nameless boy, later called Fitz, who is the bastard son of the prince. I believe his mother dies and he is sent to the prince. HOWEVER, when the prince hears about it, he abrogates the throne and moves to the countryside. When Fitz arrives, the king decides to raise him as a royal assassin.

I read the 1st one in the spring, I think it may have been March or April. I didn’t really enjoy the 1st book, but I thought I would continue anyway. However, the longer it sits in the shelf, the more I don’t want to read it. I’m going to go ahead and remove it.

This one is another book that has sat on many TBRs and I eventually want to get to it, but don’t know when. I have started the audiobook of it before, but didn’t continue.

I think I’m going to remove this one. I just have heard some things about it that I don’t think I would enjoy. I am planning on trying a completely different book by him before this one anyhow.

Both of these books are part of a what if series for Disney tales. In theory, I would love to read them, but I just realistically don’t think I ever will.

I’m going to remove both of these just because I’m trying to be cutthroat for this last one.
