Hello readers! I finished 4 books last week, which was really amazing. So, let’s do a reading update. I was hoping I’d be in a big romance mood this month, but I really haven’t been. I started one of the romance books that was on my TBR this past week, but I couldn’t get into it.
What are you currently reading? I am attempting to finish a series at the moment, which I am happy with. I honestly have started too many this year already.
If you don’t know, WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read recently, are currently reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

Yesterday I started End of Watch by Stephen King. This is the third and final book in the Bill Hodges trilogy and a direct sequel to the first book.
In book one, Mr. Mercedes, we follow Bill Hodges, who is a retired detective. The book starts with a man driving through a crowd of people at a job fair. We then follow the man who did this, along with Bill, as his next crime is being planned.
This series is honestly one of my favorites of Stephen King’s. The books are very long, but they’re very fast-paced at the same time. We also get introduced to Holly Gibney, who is an autistic character. She later on has her own series.
In Mr. Mercedes, it was so fascinating to follow the villain and Bill Hodges at the same time. We really have to get to know him and how evil he truly is. I just love this in a thriller because we’re being shown instead of told.
In this one, we are following Bill and Holly learning of the murder of a woman who was a victim of the job fair incident.

I listened to Through Gates of Garnet and Gold the night before Valentine’s Day. In a way, I was really excited for this one because we’re following Nancy, who is the main character in the first book.
However, this book just fell flat for me. I feel like every time I read a book in this series, I either love it or just feel indifferent about it. This is the 11th book in the series. I remember reading the 10th book this time last year and loving it. I actually thought that was going to be the end when I read it, but we now have more.
I genuinely think it was mostly that I just didn’t like the characters, other than the ones we already knew. We get to see more about the world that Nancy was in before she ended up at Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children. Once we got to see more of the Lord who runs that world, I just didn’t like him.
The whole book felt too short. I know the books are short, but they don’t usually feel so rushed. I needed more time with the plot and better character development.

I still haven’t gotten around to reading The Good Samaritan yet, so I’d like to read this one next. I was reading about his newest book, Dead in the Water, and found that this book is related to it.
Dollface comes out next week. The description said it is Barbie meets Scream with 90s nostalgia. I’m excited to find out what that means.
Slashers are very hit or miss with me in book form, but I’m still excited to read them when I do.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
