WWW Wednesday

Hello readers! Welcome to the last WWW Wednesday of August. This week, I am finishing some series. My last and current read are both the last book in series, which is SOOO nice. I had previously only finished 4 series this year.

If you were wondering, I got my COVID test back and I am negative (so far) and my daughter was positive. I’m going to be extremely surprised if I’m the only member of my household that doesn’t get sick. My mom is doing MUCH better and is about to go back to work in a few days, which is great.

I’m hoping all of you are staying safe and aren’t getting sick!

I’m finally finishing out Mistborn era 1. I’m impressed that I started and finished this series within 1 year.

I started with not really enjoying The Final Empire, to LOVING The Well of Ascension. I am 150 pages in and so far enjoying this one, too.

I really don’t like the time jumps between books! This one had a bigger jump than book 2. Also, Vin looks 12 years old on this cover and she is 20, which I don’t love.

I’m super excited to get this one done. It’s around 10 pages smaller than the previous book and I’m ready to see the end, even if it also scares me because I don’t want to be devastated by it.

What Did You Read Last?

Love Sugar Magic series is about a girl named Leo, who finds out her entire family are witches, or brujas. In the first book, she cooks up a love potion for this boy at school, who her best friend really likes, and it ends up going VERY wrong for them.

I really enjoyed reading this series this year and I do recommend it if you love middle grade books like I do. There is magic and family and friendship, and these books are really fun to read.

What will you read next?

Okay, so I have 2 options based on how soon I finish Hero of Ages. If I finish The Hero of Ages with a few days left in the month, I plan on reading Desperate Measures.

So, today I was writing the next Down the TBR Hole post and I came across this book on my Want to Read shelf. I forgot it even existed, but now that I saw it, I really want to get to it!

This series is made up of fantasy romance companion novels which are retellings of Disney stories. This one centers around Jafar and Jasmine. I’m really excited to try this series and haven’t read any fantasy romance in a few months.

This will be either my next book, if I don’t have time for Desperate Measures this month, or it will be the next one. Eitehr way, Murderbot Diaries book 2 will be my first book of September.

I want to get the books for my Bookopoly rolls done first in September, so I can do some more rolls later in the month. These books are VERY short and will be the perfect book for the beginning of a month.

It always makes me feel good if I finish a book on the first or second day of the month, and this one should be done quickly.

Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
