Hello readers! It’s time to go over some books on my Want to Read shelf. In the previous post, Down the TBR Hole: The Audit, we left off at 238 books, which is 36 books less than when we started this round. And we are starting at 233.
Previously, I decided to go through the books on my Want to Read shelf from newer books, including those added in 2024 and 2025. This time, I am going to go over some authors who appear in my Want to Read shelf more than once.
Ideally, I’d like to remove all but one book, but I might keep more. The idea here is to keep only the one(s) I am the absolute most excited about. This will also allow me to remove books in series that I am not up to yet. If I have book 3 in a series on the Want to Read shelf, but I haven’t read book two, it doesn’t need to be there.
If you’ve never heard of Down the TBR Hole before, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. If you want to see a more detailed version of how this works, check out Jody’s post.
I will be doing this post every other Tuesday going forward. I previously posted on Mondays, but I am changing it because of a new weekly meme I’d like to participate in that takes place on Monday.

First up, Emily Antoineette. This is honestly one of my favorite monster romance authors. I would go ahead and keep both of these, but one needs to be removed.
Afterglow is the 2nd book in the Monsters of Moonvale series, which I am up to date with. However, Space for Growth is the 3rd book in the Spire Station series, and I haven’t read book two yet.
I’ll be removing Space for Growth and keeping Afterglow.

Next is Kylie Lee Baker. I read her book Bat Eater in 2025, and I really loved it. I did see that she had written some fantasy books, so I must’ve added the most recent one to my list.
I will be removing I’ll Find You Where the Timeline Ends as I don’t really know what it is about. Japanese Gothic comes out in April, and I am super excited for it! I hope it’s even better than Bat Eater.

The third author who appears more than once is Kalynn Bayron. This is an author I’ve read a few times now and have both really loved and really disliked her books.
I am going to go ahead and keep both of these. Make Me a Monster is a YA fantasy horror novel. I know the ratings are bad, but most of her books are quite polarizing.
Olive Oaks and the Haunted Carousel is a middle-grade book. I believe it’s her first MG book, and I can’t wait to read it! It comes out in April, and I will absolutely be checking it out.

Melissa de la Cruz is the next author to pop up more than once. For this one, I am going to keep Beyond the Isle of the Lost, book 5 in the Descendants series, and remove Encanto’s Daughter.
I thought Encanto’s Daughter would be similar to the movie Encanto, but I don’t think it is now that I’ve read the synopsis.

Matt Dinniman is an author I only became aware of in December. I am really excited for his series, Dungeon Crawler Carl, and Operation Bounce House, so I am going to keep both.
These books have only been on my Want to Read list for a few months, and I can’t imagine I won’t be trying both of these this year. I am on the waitlist for Operation Bounce House, which I think came out last month.

I’ve read a Christmas book by Richard Paul Evans, and I’d like to read more one day. I am going to keep The Christmas Promise and remove A Christmas Memory.
I own a copy of The Christmas Promise, which I won in a Goodreads giveaway a few years ago. I should prioritize what I own over what I don’t.

Heather Fawcett is the first author to appear three times. I am going to keep book two in the Emily Wilde series and the Mystical Cat Shelter, as I’m excited for both.
I’ll be removing Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales, book 3 in the Emily Wilde series, as I haven’t read book two yet.

Adiba Jaigirdar is another author who appears twice. I have no idea what Rani Choudhury Must Die is about, so I’ll be removing that one.
I own Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating, and will hopefully be getting around to it one day. I’ll be keeping this one for sure.

I love Lisa Jewell’s books, but she does not need to be on my list this many times. I’m going to keep the book I’m most excited for and her 2026 release. Those two would be the ones I’d read if I wanted to pick up one of her books.

I’ll be keeping None of This is True, which is the one I’m most excited for, and It Could Have Been Her, which comes out in June.
Invisible Girl, Breaking the Dark, and Don’t Let Him In will be removed for the time being.
With that, I am going to end the post here! I did not realize how many authors would appear at least twice! So, I’ll be continuing with the rest of the authors in the next post.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
