Hello readers! It’s time to talk about some new releases I’m excited for in the first few months of 2026. I feel like every time I do one of these posts, I have fewer new releases I’m excited for. I’m excited for what I do have today, nonetheless.
What are you excited about in 2026? I’d love to know in the comments, no matter what time of year the book is coming out.

January 20
Dead in the Water is the next book from John Marrs. I’ve read his new release every year for the past 3 or 4 years now, so I’m excited to see what he comes out with in 2026 as well.
This one follows a character named Damon, who has a near-death experience. He sees a mysterious boy during his time unconscious who he spends his time searching for once he is awake again.
I only recently read one of his non-scifi thrillers, and I’m excited for more. It was weird not to have that scifi setting, but not in a bad way.

Also on the 20th is Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy. I previously read her memoir, and I am now very intrigued to see that she is writing fiction.
Can we talk about this cover? It’s so repulsive. Seeing the title and this cover combo evokes a reaction in me, which I think is a good thing. I’ve never seen a cover like that before.
This one follows a girl named Waldo who pursues a relationship with her teacher. It sounds similar to My Dark Vanessa. If it is, it will be a rough read, but I still want to do it.

I know I haven’t finished the Emily Wilde series, but I also love a quirky title. This is Heather Fawcett’s newest fantasy romance book. I have no idea if it’ll be a series or not. I also really want to read this to see if I can let my daughter read it as well. She is a big lover of cats.
This one takes place in Montreal in the 20’s and follows Agnes, who runs a cat shelter. She has to move her shelter, and when she does, she meets the love interests Havelock, who runs some sort of illegal magic shop. She dislikes him at first, but later has to save both him and her cat shelter.

March 10
Right before Spring comes Hafa’s Way. This one is one of the companion books that go with Amal Unbound and Omar Rising. I had no idea another book was being released. These aren’t a series, but they are related.
Amal Unbound is a middle-grade novel that follows a girl living in Pakistan named Amal, who becomes a child slave. This is such a great story and an amazing way to introduce the topic of child slavery to kids.
Hafsa and Omar are both friends of Amal who now have their own books. Hafsa wants to be a doctor and wants to go to a summer camp to pursue her dreams. She will do anything to pursue her dreams despite being a girl and the financial limitations as well.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
