Hello readers! It’s time for Blogmas. I can’t lie, i wasn’t going to do Blogmas this year so I didn’t really prepare the way that I have in the past.
However, I have been slowly getting back into the reading habit. So, why not go ahead and try it? I’m going to post every other day for the month so I don’t get too overwhelmed. I did this a few years ago and it went well.
I know I’ve been gone a bit in the past few months. I really have just been very busy. I’m doing really well, actually. My life has gotten way back on track in a way it hasn’t in a long time. And, I met someone.
I have been reading and trying to get back into the habit once again. I have some plans for getting back into my reading habit in 2026 in a way that I haven’t been able to in a couple years, which you will see later this month.
I thought I’d go ahead and start the month with the books that I really want to get to by the end of this year, including some I am currently reading.

The two books I’m currently reading are The Passengers and From Blood and Ash. I started FBAA way back in late summer and haven’t picked it up in a while. But, I’d like to finish it this month.
I have about 40% left of FBAA. I was enjoying it quite a lot when I was reading it. My life just got a little busy and I didn’t go back to it.
The Passengers I just started a few days ago and I am almost 30% in. I read Marr’s most recently released last month and thought I might as well go back and read this. I think I started it before because the story felt very familiar at first.
The Passengers is a scifi thriller follow a bunch of different people who get trapped inside self-driving vehicles when they are all hacked by someone. I’m really enjoying it a lot. AND, I’m enjoy ing reading almost every day. It’s so nice.

As you guys might remember, I visited the Christmas Story house earlier this year. When I was there I found out there was a book that the movie was based on. I’ve been hearing this book around in my purse for about a week now but I haven’t started it.
It was really interesting because the museum had quiet a lot in there that reference stuff that was only in the book. It really intrigued me as I didn’t know there even was one. I finally want to read this now that Christmas-time is here. It’s honestly the only Christmas book I really plan to get to this year, but next year will be completely different.

The first book I read this year was The Luis Ortega Survival Guide by this author and I really liked it a lot. I’ve read from them before as well. This book is somewhat of a sequel to the Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School, where we follow the MC’s brother.
I know it’s similar to the other one that it’s about navigating relationships, mental health, and being in Catholic School. I think it’ll be good. I really learned in 2025 that I can still enjoy YA books if I just pick the right ones, and this author has only had wins for me.

If I still have time after the previous books, I’d like to go ahead and reread Amari and the Night Brothers. I meant to do it this year so I can continue the series.
One thing I really want to delve more into in 2026 is middle grade fantasy. I haven’t read much of it because I didn’t think I could enjoy it. But books like Amari and Nevermoor have changed my mind.
What are you reading this December? I really hope I can get to all of this, but if not, I will read as many as I can.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
