Hello readers! I thought it would be fun to tell you some of my plans for this reading challenge I want to join called the Hardest Reading Challege You’ll Ever Do.
It starts on the 7th of July and goes until the 6th of July 2026. The point of the challenge is that it is nearly impossible to finish. I don’t know if I can do it, but I’d like to try!
I calculated the other day and I think I have to read at least 85 books to finish all the challenges. Each book can go for two challenges, and rereads don’t count (for the most part).
So, I thought I’d tell you what I hope to read for the next two or three months for this challenge, and I’ll keep you updated every other month or so.
I think it’ll be easy to hit two challenges for every book this early in the challenge, so I’ll be aiming to do that as long as I can.

One challenge category is called the Series Stairway. In this challenge you are to read a standalone, duology, trilogy, and 4 book series (in any order).
I’ve been wanting to read the Belladonna trilogy for a long time now. I have heard a lot of positive things about it and I think I’ll like it. It’s a YA fantasy romance series. I know book one has a murder mystery plot, which is making me think it may be similar to Throne of Glass.
Book one, Belladonna will also go for a challenge called Subgenres, where you have to pick a genre and read 6 different subgenres within that genre. I went back and forth and decided to just go with fantasy, and this one is fantasy romance.
Books two and three, Foxglove and Wisteria will go for a challenge named Even Bigger Rainbow Challenge, where you read a book with each of the 13 colors listed on the cover. I’ll be counting them for the purple and blue prompts.

The next book is Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, which is the first book in the Kane Chronicles. This one will go for the red prompt on the Even Bigger Rainbow Challenge.
This one will also go for a much tricker challenge called Spooky Creatures, where you have to read one of eight books with creatures in the book. These include vampires, witches, shifter, fae, ghosts or demons, a sea creature, zombies, and another of your choosing.
This series has a creature called Shabti, so I am counting that for the creature of my choice.

Black Water Sister will also go for the Spooky Creatures challenge for ghosts or demons. I believe it has both. The main character gets possessed by the ghost of her ancestors, so I know it at least has a ghost in it.
The other challenge I am counting this one for is Around the World Challenge. In this one, you pick a book either set in or by an author from each continent. You don’t have to do Antartica, but I want to try in the future.
Zen Cho was born in Malaysia AND the book is set in Malaysia as well, so this will count for Asia.

The next one would be Hollowpox, which is the 3rd book in the Nevermoor series. This will also count for the Around the World Challenge. Jessica Townsend is Australian, so this one will count for Oceania.
This one will also go for the Last 10 Year Challenge where you read one book published in every year from 2015 to 2025, and this one was published in 2020.

These two are for the challenge that think will be the hardest one for me to do, but I’m going to give it my best shot.
It’s called the New Releases category. In this challenge, I have to read a book released in every month of the year within 60 days of it’s publication. This can be 60 days before or after, if you have an ARC or something.
King of Ashes was published in June and How to Survive a Horror Story will be published this month.
S.A. Cosby is also a black author, so I’ll put this one down for the BIPOC author prompt. This prompt is to read 10 books by POC authors from different backgrounds.
How to Survive a Horror Story is going to go for the By the 100’s challenge. For this challenge, I need to read a book in the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, and 700 page range. This book is 368 pages, so it’ll go for the 300 part of this prompt set.

For the 24 Hour Readathon Challenge, I have to do a 24 hour readathon and try to read as many books as I can, with a minimum of 3 books.
All 3 of these are graphic novels that I own and would really love to get them off my TBR. There is one challenge called Personal Challenge, where you pick your own. There is no number of books required for this one.
I chose to try for 5 books that I own, so all three will go for that prompt as well.
I think that’s all I will do for now and I’ll come back in two months or so to give you guys an update on this challenge! I have so many ideas for all the prompts.
Let me know if you are participating in this challenge! I really hope everyone joins even if they think they could only do a few of the prompts.
I’m also hoping to participate in the Point System challenges where you can earn different things like being able to use rereads for prompts and being able to use a book for three prompts instead of two.
I’ll update you in the next one if I do earn enough points to do anything with.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
