Hello readers! It’s time for a WWW Wednesday. I have been reading like crazy this past week. College for me goes all year round, but my current term is a lot easier than the past few, so I have had a little more time to read lately.
If you don’t know, WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read recently, are currently reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

I am nearly done with Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker. This book follows a woman who cleans up crime scenes for a living. She witnesses her sister being murdered and starts spiraling.
I didn’t expect it to take a paranormal twist. Or a possibly paranormal twist? It is really a interesting story and is one of those where we aren’t sure if it’s paranormal or in her head.
She is struggling a lot with her mental health and possibly being haunted along with the social climate in the US during COVID for Asian people.
This is not the type of horror book that I usually read because they’re usually quite grotesque. This one (so far) hasn’t been too much for me.

I started Charming Devil last night. I only read two chapters so far, but I’m planning on diving into it a lot more today.
I was honestly torn between which I should read first, so why not read both?
This is the sequel to Beautiful Villain and follows Dorian and Baz. It’s a retelling of Dorian Grey and is also dual POV when the first was just followed Daisy.
I’m really excited to see more in this universe because I found it very interesting. The backstory of vampires being rooted in science is something I’ve never really seen before. We don’t even commonly see any sort of history of how vampires came to be.

The last book I finished was Beautiful Villain. This one is a Gatsby retelling. It follows Daisy who runs into Jay Gatsby after they haven’t seen each other for many years, but he has changed a lot. He is now a vampire, but she doesn’t know that.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was character driven, but also had plenty of action.
I didn’t love the pop culture references or the setting being current time. I wish it were set in the 20’s like the original was.
However, it is a 2nd chance romance, which is something I usually really don’t like, but it worked for me in this one.
I’m excited to continue the series. Book 3 comes out in July and is a Wuthering Heights retelling, which makes me nervous because I really didn’t like Wuthering Heights. But, I’m going to go into it with an open mind.

I just got my hold in for The Passengers yesterday, so I plan to read start it next.
This one is a scifi novel following people who are stuck in smart cars.
I noticed on Goodreads that it now says this is a series. I knew all these books by him were connected, but it never said they were in a series before.
The Passengers is book 2, and I’ve read The One, The Marriage Act, and The Family Experiment, which are books 1, 4, and 5.
I did not mean to read these completely out of order, but I can’t go back now.
