Alli the Book Giraffe

Hello readers! It’s time to talk about some books. What are you guys currently reading? I finally finished my first book of the month last night. I have just been so busy this month so far.

If you don’t know, WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read recently, are currently reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

I’m not reading this just yet, but I will be starting it today. There are 10 short stories in this book by Lovecraft and I’m really excited to try them.

I am planning to read this throughout the month in between other books. I am not the biggest fan of short stories, so I don’t want to read them all at once.

The other book I’m reading is Titan’s Curse. This is the third book in the Percy Jackson series. It also fits for the Buzzcover prompt of a skyline.

This series follows a young boy named Percy Jackson who finds out he is the son of a god. He sets off on a journey to find Zeus’ bolt, which was stolen from Olympus.

Love Redesigned is the first book in the Lakefront Billionaires series, which follows the Dreamland Billionaires series. This one takes place in the small town that the last book in the Dreamland Billionaires series, Final Offer, did.

This book follows Julian and Dahlia. Dahlia is back in town after her fiance dumped her, and she ends up working on a renovation project with Julian, who she really doesn’t get along with.

I felt as though that even this book was over 500 pages, but the book was somehow rushed. Her grief for her ex was rushed. Their switch from enemies to lovers was rushed. I also just don’t really enjoy 2nd chance romance that much.

However, I still overall enjoyed it and will be reading to the next one. I loved the previous series. I didn’t feel like any of them were rushed, and all the books were just as long as this one. I think this is just a fluke for this author and I will really find out from reading book two later this year.

The next book I want to start is Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden. This is the 2nd book in the Vanderbeekers series.

In this series, we follow a family of a bunch of kids. In book one, they find out they are being evicted right before Christmas and try to do everything they can to stop it.

In book two, something happens with one of their neighbors and they help them. The description doesn’t really give too many details.

This one would also count for the Buzzword Buzzcover prompt of a skyline as well. This cover is honestly so beautiful.
