Hello readers! It’s time for Tell Me Something Tuesday. When is the last time I did this? I honestly don’t even remember. It’s been a hot minute. But, this week we are going over some of my favorite books I read this year.
I honestly didn’t read much, but I have a few that I did end up really loving.
Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by That’s What I’m Talking About. Each week there is a prompt to talk about. If you would like to participate, you need to fill out this Google Form, and the prompts will be sent to your email bimonthly.
12/10/24:: What are your favorite books/audiobooks that you read in 2024?

Annie Bot follows a robot woman. She is a cuddle bunny robot, but there are many types like maids, nannies, etc..
She slowly starts learning more and more, and even tries so hard to please this man who owns her, but it just doesn’t work.
This book is so uncomfortable. It’s like witnessing an abusive relationship and you can’t do anything to help it. And, this character literally cannot leave because she is an object who is owned by him.
It was really amazing and powerful. And I loved the ending specifically. This book is super short, but it packed a punch.

The Family Experiment is my new favorite of John Marrs. I feel like he is such an underrated author in the book community because most people are not paying attention to scifi these days.
This book was full of twists and turns. It was a page turner for sure. The way it was written reminded me a lot of The One. Both books have these little cliffhangers at the end of so many chapters.
I ended up voting for this one for the Goodreads Choice Awards because it was so good. I was going to vote for Annie Bot, but this one just edged it out for me.

I guess I am in a scifi phase this year or something. The last one is Battle Royale. I did have things about this that I didn’t enjoy, but overall it’s a favorite.
I loved this story. It was honestly so long, but it could’ve been longer. I would read more in this world if the author ever were to put anything out.
It’s sort of slow paced in the first half, but it really picks up toward the end. When we get an action scene, it’s really engaging and I got super invested in who would live or die.
We have no idea how many people of the 42 will live or die, so it’s sort of Game of Thrones vibes where anyone, no matter how much you like or dislike them, could die at random. It was really an amazing read and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.
