Down the TBR Hole #2

Down the TBR Hole

Hello readers! It’s time for Down the TBR hole. I love doing this series. Two weeks ago, I restarted and revamped my Down the TBR Hole series. If you missed the first one CLICK HERE. I do this series every other Monday and go over 8 books myself. Check out the purple box below to see more details about Down the TBR Hole.

Essentially, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on GoodReads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. If you want to see a more detailed version of how this works, check out Jody’s post. She is doing her Down the TBR Hole posts on Thursdays if you want to check those out!

Last time we ended on 159 books and currently we are starting with 163 books.

The Priory of the Orange Tree is not going anywhere at the moment. I have owned this book now for a few years and still hope to read it at some point.

This is another one that I own and honestly forgot about. I’m still interested in it as it’s a WWII historical fiction.

All I know about it is the MC goes on a hunt to kill Hitler. She was a survivor of horrible experiments and now is a werewolf, I think.

Also, this MC last name is Wolfe, just like me! That is a weird coincidence.

I added this book because it is the author of The Black Flamingo. And, I really enjoyed that book. I also still plan to read this book one of these days.

I just know it’s an LGBT centered book like the previous one.

This is another one that I own. I found an ARC of this book in a Little Free Library a few years ago. I know it centers an indigenous author.

I have no idea where the copy I have is, though. But, I’ll still get to it one day, even if I have to get a new copy or get it on Libby.

I remember hearing about this book back in 2020 before it even came out, yet it is still on my list.

I really got to try to get my hands on a copy later this year! I read so many Christmas books in 2023, it was crazy. I literally started reading Christmas books in August. And, I am probably going to do it again.

I just love Christmas. I love the vibe of Christmas, I love the joy and hope of it. And, I LOVE to immerse myself in all the stories.

I have no idea what this book is about, but it is by the same author as The Astonishing Color of After. I LOVED that book, so I’ll be keeping this one for now.

Also, can we just talk about this cover? It is so pretty! We do not get stunning covers like this enough. I am going to have to buy myself a copy of this one.

This is one that I cannot decide if I want to keep or remove, so I’ll keep it for now. I personally have gotten back into retellings at the end of 2023, but I’m also unsure.

The synopsis says that is follows Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, after the end of the movie. She isn’t really enjoying being royalty and misses her life as a commoner. And, then finds some sort of mirror that she falls through into another world.

It honestly sounds like a mix of Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Alice in Wonderland. Have any of you guys read this? Is it worth the read?

Show Me a Sign is a book centering deaf voices. I have actually read a lot of books like that, weirdly.

This is fiction, but is inspired by a real island where there was a large deaf population. This island is called Martha’s Vineyard. Nearly 1/4th of the population was deaf, so everyone there learned ASL.

More people should know ASL! I don’t know a ton of it myself, but I have taught myself some over the years. And, I still hope to read this book one of these days.

I’m still trying to work up the courage to read Priory lol. It’s also staying on my shelf for now.
