Hello readers! It’s time for top ten Tuesday. It’s the first one of 2024, actually. This one centers new authors I discovered in 2023. I think I will try to pick mostly indie authors as I am always itching to bring exposure to them.
Either way, all of these authors are potential all-time favorites for me.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, you pick your top 10 of the topic provided.
January 30: New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2023
Rebecca F Kenney
I read 5 books by this author in 2023 and honestly loved them all. I can easily say she is a new favorite author for me. She writes retellings of things I have never read before. She has one coming out this year for The Great Gatsby and Picture of Dorian Gray.
If you like fantasy romance books that are a bit chaotic (in a good way), please try this author!
Lauren Asher
Lauren Asher wrote the Dreamland Billionaires series, which I read this year. I am absolutely going to be reading her backlist along with her new series in 2024.
Emily Antoinette
This is a monster romance/alien romance author. I read all 4 of her books that came out last year and am now on her ARC list! Her book, Space For Love, has a sequel coming out this year, and I will be either ARC reading it or reading it as soon as it comes out.
She also specializes in plus size romance. The sequel to Space For Love will even have a plus size man in it, which she hasn’t done before. I cannot tell you guys how tired I am of the lack of plus size men in romance and I need more.
Arianna Isabella
I found this author last year when I signed up to ARC read the first book in her Cyndicate series and have come to love her books. She now has 2 books out with another being released next month.
Not only do I love her books because of her amazing writing and characters I cannot help but love, but also because she is an amazing person.
Ami Wright
This is a monster romance author whose Monstrous Deals series has become one of my favorites. She has other books, but I haven’t delved into them just yet. I read all four books in that series last year and another is coming at the end of February (I think).
Sophia Travers
Yet another author I found through ARC reading. When I picked up her book My Office Rival, I wasn’t even sure if I would like it, but it was such a good one. One of the best enemies to lovers I have read to be honest.
I’m now on her permanent ARC team and will keep telling everyone to read her books until they do. She is one of those indie authors that no one even gives a chance to and I hate that for her.
Roxanna Mason
I ARC read book two of her Shifted series in December and can say, that series is so, so good. It starts out as a contemporary romance following a woman making her way through the dating pool, but ends up having a paranormal twist.
Then, book two comes along and I was addicted! Without spoiling anything, our MC is kidnapped and we are following her trying to survive. One of those books that I was sad to finish because there isn’t more to read yet.
Talia Hibbert
I read a romance by this author called Guarding Temptation which has a plus size man in it. I am hoping to read a lot more from this author in the future because she has more books like that as well. I am all for the plus size romances.
Adiba Jaigirdar
The Dos and Donuts of Love last year was really good. I read it because of the food aspect, but I also loved the love triangle moment. I own Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating and I hope she could be a favorite author in the future.
Piper Rayne
I read this Christmas romance by Piper Rayne in 2023 called Claus and Effect. It is one of my favorite Christmas romances I read last year, and trust me, I read a lot of them.
I know this author has a big backlist and I’m hoping to read at least a few of them in 2024, including her other Christmas romance.
