Hello readers! Here is my pretty short reading goals post. I usually have a ton of oddly specific ones, but not this year. I only have 6 and I think they are easily doable if I keep with it.
Goal 1: Goodreads Goal
I think I’m going to go for 200 books as my goal. I wanted to do it in 2023, but just didn’t. The worst that can happen is I lower it because I’m nowhere near hitting it. I’m really excited to try! And, I know I can do it if nothing awful happens next year. Crossing my fingers. 🤞🤞
Goal 2: Disability Rep
One of my exciting goals for this year is to expand my reading horizons by exploring books that beautifully portray physical disabilities. While I already enjoy reading about neurodivergent characters, I am eager to delve into the realm of disability representation that focuses on physical challenges. I believe this will not only broaden my perspectives but also offer me a fresh and uplifting reading experience. I have a list of a few, mostly middle-grade, but let me know what book you’ve read with a disabled character in it that you love!
Goal 3: Project Sanderson
I’m hoping to read at least one of Sanderson’s books each month to catch up on the Cosmere plus Skyward. He has other books, but I want to focus on those first. I have read a good chunk of the Cosmere, but I still have a lot to go.
The only ones I am not sure I can get to is all the Stormlight Archive books. I’ve only read book 1, but I’ll still be happy if I read through the rest of the Cosmere and maybe one Stormlight book. We will just have to see what happens!
Goal 4: Finishing Series
Well, I started around 30 series in 2023. Some of those were ones that only have one book in them, but many are not. My goal is going to be to finish 24 series. That would be 2 a month.
I’m going to have to make a sheet on Google to organize all those series to help myself finish them because it’s a bit overwhelming at this moment.
Goal 5: Review Indie Books
I want to review every indie book I read on Amazon ESPECIALLY if it has less than 50 reviews on it. I review every indie author ARC I get on Amazon, of course. But, I also get quite a few books through Kindle Unlimited that I haven’t left reviews for. It helps indie authors so much if they have more than 50 reviews on Amazon.
I don’t always feel compelled to leave a review if I don’t have to, but I want to help them as much as I can.
Goal 6: ARCs
I want to read 50 ARCs in 2024. And by ARCs, I mean indie ones. I hope most of not all are indie. That will be 4 or 5 per month, or around 1 a week. I somehow managed in October and November to have around 10. I really do not want to do that again. 10 is way too much work for me.
