Hello readers! Today we are here to talk about all the series I am leaving in 2023. For many of these, I only read book one and for a few, I’m just deciding to give up. What series are you giving up this year?
I read Chunky way earlier this year. It is a (mostly) non-fiction, middle grade graphic novel about a young boy who needs to lose weight for medical reasons. He also has no grace. When he tries out many different sports to help his weight, he repeatedly gets injured.
It was a cute book but I’m just not interested in reading the rest of the series.
The first book in this series was good. I gave it 5 stars. I am just satisfied with how the book ended and haven’t really been interested in more.
I’m not really sure why that is. I just haven’t had any interest in going further and it’s as simple as that.
Shatter Me was a series that I was on the fence about at first and then slowly liked every time I read a book in it. BUT, that was when it was a trilogy.
I don’t know why Mafi decided to add onto it, but it wasn’t needed. I finally read book 4 earlier this year and really did not like it. I won’t be making it to the end of this one.
You guys know I don’t like this book. I didn’t think the world building was strong enough and the romance wasn’t good either. They hated each other and then suddenly didn’t. It wasn’t really believable for me.
I also wouldn’t want to support Wednesday books by reading the sequel to this. I really don’t think they plan on ever making a statement, so I’m just not interested in them anymore.
