Hello readers! I just realized it is the 60th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Stephen King will have me remembering that for the rest of my life.
Anyhow, it’s Wednesday! The day before Thanksgiving. What is everyone doing? I will be spending most of my day baking and prepping for Turkey Day while listening to some books. I made my dogs some cookies yesterday and boiled a ton of eggs. I also had to make a turkey overnight as we are doing a ham and a turkey and I can’t fit both in my oven at once. Believe me, I tried.
If you don’t know, WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Taking On a World of Words where you share what you have read recently, are currently reading, and will read next. You can do this EVERY week, or as often as you like.

I’m nearly 350 pages into Things We Hide From the Light. I feel like nothing much has happened so far. It is most definitely a sloooooow burn. I love that this book follows a cop and police brutality and racism is brought up.
I am still enjoying thus far. Much more than book one. I think my problem with book one is that I had this mystery plot that I was more interested in than the romance and I was just annoyed that we weren’t focusing on it. I don’t have that expectation with this one. There is a mystery element, but it isn’t as prominent.

I am just over 200 pages in and not sure how I feel about this one. Cal is an alcoholic and I really don’t think he has any business being where he is. I’m really going to hate if he is magically cured by the end of the book knowing he has been struggling for nearly a decade.
I have a sister in law who suffers greatly from addiction. She chose it over her children and marriage. Addiction is so serious and I don’t know if this book will handle it right. However, I will keep reading to see what happens.

I read the third book in the Monstrous Deals series. I do like that is tied the rest of the books together, I didn’t love this one as much.
This one just felt so rushed. I think it could’ve been much longer and better on the romance side. Also, it has the pregancy trope. I know many people HATE that trope, so I always want to mention it.

I finally got this audiobook and I need something to listen to while I cook Thanksgiving, so I’m going for this one. I have a ton of baking to do today and cooking tomorrow and I love cooking and listening to audiobooks.
Have you read this yet? I’m sad the audiobook isn’t done by her, but I still am excited to listen to it either way.
