Let’s Talk Bookish: All-Time Favorite Books

Hello readers! How has everyone been doing this October? Is everyone in the spooky mood? It’s the 30th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas this year. Did you know that? Some may say it’s a Christmas movie and others would say it’s a Halloween movie. I say that it’s both!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme that was originated by Eternity Books and is currently hosted by Book Nook Bits. The accompanying thumbnail was also designed by Book Nook Bits. Each Friday, bloggers craft posts where they engage in discussions centered around the designated topic for the week.

Prompts: What books would you say are your all-time favorites? Do you have lots of them, or just a few? What makes a book one of your all-time favorites?

I love this topic! There are many things that can make an all time favorite books for me. I have a favorites shelf on Goodreads and out of the 1100 books I’ve read in my life, only 52 sit on there.

I have added two to the list this year, both of which are within the same series. The Wicked Darlings series books one and two just have everything.

I think the thing for me that usually makes a favorite are the characters. This whole series has no dull characters. Even the side characters are well thought out and could be a main character.

This book was also a bit chaotic and I really love that. As long as it’s chaotic in a way that makes sense. This world is so beautiful and vibrant but also creepy and violent. It’s really amazing.

One that I added to the list last year was Lord of the Fly Fest. So many people really don’t like this book but for me it was a favorite. This was a retelling of Lord of the Flies, but the characters are gen z influences.

It really does a great job of modernizing the original book as well as packing this book with plenty of chaos and crazy characters. This book mocks the rich and makes fun of the Fyre festival thing that happened in 2019.

I also have a few in here that were just amazing endings to a series. These were books that left me equally satisfied and also mourning the end of my time with the characters.

Another set of books are thrillers that just blew me away. I have read my fair share of thrillers and there are only a few that I think gave me something I didn’t expect.

I honestly read a lot of different genres and it takes something different from each one to make a 5 star read for me. The one thing that all books have to do is just give me that feeling that I would rate it 6 stars if it were possible.
