Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

Hello readers! It’s time for a tag. I tried to pick ones this month that have autumnal vibes and I think Beauty and the Beast has that. What is your favorite Disney princess movie? Mine is Brave!

Beauty and the Beast Book Tag was created by Kirsty and the Cat Read. The lengths I had to go to to find that information was crazy. Please credit who created a tag when you do it!

Tale As Old As Time – A popular theme, trope or setting you will never get bored of reading.

I will never get tired of the grumpy/sunshine trope. It is always fun to see character’s learn that their expectations of others are just wrong. And, I love seeing the bubbly attitude of the sunshine character grow and spread to others instead of the other way around.

Belle – A book you bought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside

Space For Love has such a beautiful cover and is such a good book. It’s one of those cute and cozy romances. I love that Antoinette gives her characters some awkward interactions when they are getting to know one another and I also love that the character who isn’t plus size is the one worried about their looks.

I just read Maneater by her as well and it has the same vibe, but Space For Love is scifi and Maneater is more paranormal.

Beast – A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasantly surprised you.

For the first two books, I didn’t think I was going to love this series. I usually wouldn’t give a series that many chances, but these books are like 100-200 pages each. I think this is better to just binge all at once because the story is really good. It just took me a while to see that.

Gaston – A book everyone loves that you don’t

Everyone loves this book except me. Seriously, I have not seen one person say anything bad about it. Except me, of ocurse.

I just really did not like the lack of world building in it and the romance, for me, did not work. They were rivals and then suddenly weren’t? It felt like the author wrote it as a historical fiction and then went back and added some fantasy stuff to it, but not enough to make sense.

If you have been wanting to try this one, probably do so because everyone loves it.

Lefou – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counterpart.

I know I’m not in the minority when I say Kenji is the best character in Shatter Me. Kenji may be the best representation of a best friend character in any book I’ve read.

Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumier & Cogsworth – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable

This book taught me about indigenous babies being removed from their homes in the 60s. As an American, I did not know or learn about that happening until I was an adult.

Honestly, learning that I didn’t learn this surprised me the most. In America, we are taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America. He didn’t even come to America and also committed genocide on indigenous people in the Bahamas. I know that isn’t related to this book, but it does show how ridiculous the American education system is.

Something There – A book or a series that you weren’t into at first, but picked up towards the end

Well, I already used the Mindf*ck series, so I’m going to say ACOTAR. I didn’t really love or hate ACOTAR when I picked it up. I was indifferent on the book and was going to give it one more chance, but I think every book has been better than the last.

ACOWAR is my favorite so far, though I haven’t read ACOSF just yet.

Be Our Guest – A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner

I would say Holly from the Bill Hodges trilogy. Hoesntly, any autistic character that was honestly not treated the best in their life by their families. Holly’s mother was unbearable and treated her like she wasn’t a capable adult, which seemed to hinder her progress.
