End of Year Book Tag (2023 edition)

Hello readers! It’s time for a tag! It is the perfect time of year for the End of Year Book Tag. I have done this tag before. CLICK HERE for the 2021 edition and CLICK HERE for the 2022 edition.

This tag was created by Booktuber Ariel Bisset many years ago and many people do it every year, including myself.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Acevedo is one of my faves. That is what made my dislike of Family Lore so devastating to me. I saw some people say it’s easier to get into if you read the physical book. So, I’m waiting right now to get the ebook on Libby.

It’s hard to tell the POVs apart and it just lacks the spark of Acevedo’s previous books. I will finish this once I get the ebook, but I don’t know if it will actually help my dislike.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition to the end of the year?

I don’t really read books based on the season. I have phases of genres that I read. I do want to read some Christmas-y books this fall. I feel the way about Christmas that most people feel about Halloween. I love Christmas so much and haven’t read many books set at that time.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Most of my anticipated releases have already been released. However, I CANNOT wait for Iron Flame to be here. I am waiting for this to come out to buy both books.

Reading Fourth Wing in July was a great decision and I don’t want to leave 2023 without getting to the seque;! Have you read Fourth Wing yet?

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

Well, I hope so! I think ACOSF could be a fave for sure.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2024?

Yes! I started making reading goals in August. I also started my reading spreadsheet for 2024 as well. I just have an idea of how I’m lacking in my reading and how I want to change it in the coming year or years. I also want to do Blogmas again and the only way I can do that is to pre-plan everything, including the reading goals post!

  2. This tag makes me seat a little lol. I’ve fallen a little behind on my Goodreads goal, but I think I’ll be able to make it. And I’m really excited for Iron Flame too!

    1. If you get too behind, just lower it! That’s what I always do. I always hit my Goodreads goal because I lower it to accomidate what I’m reading. It was at 150 at the beginning of the year, then I dropped it to 75, and later upped it to 100.
