Montserrat is a very talented person who edits sounds for movies. Unfortunately, she has always been ignored and not given the recognition she deserves. This is because the film industry in Mexico City during the 1990s was mainly run by men, making it difficult for her to gain attention. Even her best friend, Tristán, who used to be a charming star in soap operas, doesn’t seem to notice her existence, even though she has loved him since they were children.

However, everything changes when Tristán discovers that their new neighbor is Abel Urueta, a famous director of horror movies. Urueta claims that he can greatly improve their lives by finishing a mysterious film that involves a Nazi follower of the occult and magic film stock. Although this may sound like pure fiction, Urueta insists that he is cursed because he never completed the film. He convinces Montserrat and Tristán to help him shoot the missing scene and break the curse. However, as they get more involved in the project, Montserrat realizes that something evil is following her, and Tristán begins to see the ghost of his previous girlfriend. Together, they investigate the secrets of the film and the mysterious occultist who once haunted their city. They discover that magic and sorcery may not only exist in movies but also in reality.
