Hello readers! We are approaching the 2nd half of the year and it’s time to pick some books to read for July. I limited myself to 5 because I know I can go crazy with it.
I am feeling very good about my reading in July. I might participate in a readathon called Summerween, but we will just have to see. I don’t think I’ve done a readathon all year and I used to do them every single month. I just love readathons, readalongs and book clubs.

I had to scroll through editions of this book on Goodreads for around 15 minutes trying to find the exact edition I own. It’s the book that I’ve owned the longest.
I discovered this is a Book of the Month Club edition from 1994, the year I was born. Yes, it’s THAT Book of the Month. After learning that, I was googling BOTM and learned they were founded in the 1920s. I always thought BOTM was a recent thing, not knowing I owned one of their books this whole time.
Either way, I want to reread it! I’ve been planning on rereading this book for YEARS and just haven’t. I read it as a kid, but haven’t read it since. I’d also like to watch an adaptation of it, at some point.

Surprise Me follows a couple who have been married for 10 years. They decide they want to spice up their relationship with these surprises of some sort and start to discover hidden secrets. This threatens their marriage and they have to work through it or separate.
I am jumping back into Kinsella’s books and hopefully getting to some more this year. I still have1 other book I haven’t read by her, Remember Me.

After reading Dos and Donuts of Love, I realized I am neglecting foodie books. I love a good food-centered book that involves a competition. This is the next one on my list to read. I also am thinking of getting to Sweethand this month.
This one follows 4 middle school kids who go on a cooking competition. It doesn’t say much else in the description about it, but I’ll let you know more once I’ve read it.

This one is a collection of short stories that related queerness to movies. It gives a specific movie and each author will show how it relates to their reall ife as a queer person.
I saw it on a Books and Lala vlog and I thought I have to try it myself!

I’m not sure if this is a collection of short stories, but it does have a ton of Asian authors. Goodreads says it is co-authored by Linda Sue Park, Erin Entrada Kelly, Grace Lin, Traci Chee, Mike Chen, Meredith Ireland, Mike Jung, Minh Le, Ellen Oh, Randy Ribay, Christina Soontornvat, and Susan Tan, and edited by Ellen Oh.
It takes place in an airport and follows 12 kids whose lives collide during their time in said airport. I really like the idea of an airport setting and I think I’ll love this book.
