February 2026 TBR

Hello readers! February is right around the corner, so let’s talk about what I am hoping to read this month. February is the month of love, and honestly, I think I could use some lighthearted romance. Alongside romance, I am going to talk about a hold I have on Libby, and some other books I’d like to get to.

I have another problematic author coming up soon, so I have 2 to 4 books I can’t tell you guys about. The next author is a children’s author whom I never read as a kid, but I was very familiar with his adaptations.

I hope you guys end up enjoying this problematic authors series. I also have an author picked for March, who isn’t a children’s author, but is a beloved classics author with many movie adaptations. I’m intrigued to see what you guys think as I post these.

Through Gates of Garnet and Gold just came out in January, and my hold is very close on Libby. I was really surprised when I saw we are getting another book in this series.

The Wayward Children series follows many different characters who, when they were kids, were taken to another world. Some books have worlds made of food, others are filled with vampires or even unicorns, and some of the books just take place in our world.

When the kids leave the world they are in, whether voluntarily or not, they end up at Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children. Some hope to one day go back, and others don’t.

The odd-numbered books follow one storyline, sometimes in different perspectives, and the even-numbered ones are backstories of characters we’ve met along the way.

The main character in book one is Nancy. She was thrown out of a world full of the dead and ended up at Eleanor West’s School for Wayward Children. We also see her again in another book where she is not the main character, and then this one, which is book 11, follows her again.

I’m excited to try this one out! I really loved the last book so much, and I was sad to see the series go. I really thought it was the end.

This one just came up on hold from Libby. I’ve wanted to read it now for a few months, but haven’t gotten around to it. I thought that because the new movie is coming out this month, I should finally read it.

I am a life-long Scream fan. That last movie was honestly the best in the series (besides the first one). The first Scream movie came out 30 years ago now! I was 2-years-old at the time.

I have always been a horror fan, and this was the beginning for me. I remember watching it when I wasn’t even school age yet.

This book is a behind-the-scenes insight into the movies, including interviews and other secrets from the movies. I’m really excited for this and for the new movie.

Fake It Till You Bake It was a random book I picked up at the library book sale last year. I honestly grabbed it because it’s food-centered.

I know this is a fake dating romance following a woman who is a celebrity and a guy who is a football player who owns a cupcake shop.

I’m excited to try this one! I thought if I’m going to read a romance book this month, it might as well be one I own. And, I’m going to be hitting up the library book sale this month again. I went last year in April with the intent to go back every month, but never got around to it.

Another one I’d like to get to this month if I can is the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I love vampire books, so I think I’ll enjoy these.

I read the prequel Darius a few years ago now with the intent to fully start the series, but I never got around to it.

Looking at the description, it sounds very similar to the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost, which I LOVE. It follows a half-vampire-half-human woman (so does the Night Huntress series), and Wrath, who is sent to protect her. I believe she is the daughter of Darius from the prequel. And of course, there will be a romance.

This series is over 20 books, which is intimidating, but I really want to try it out. I’ve been waiting too long now.

Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
