The Sunday Post 71: Blogmas Day 4

Hello readers and merry Blogmas! Today’s post falls on a Sunday, so I thought I’d give you a life update. I mean, it’s been about two months since I gave one. I’ve been busy, but I’m also having a great time getting back into Blogmas.

The Sunday Post was created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!

What have I been up to lately? Not too much honestly.

I am approaching the end of another term at SNHU. I am really looking forward to the break. I need a break badly.

My plan is to spend the next week trying to get the last two weeks of school done so my break can be even longer. I’ve only had two weeks off this year. One at the beginning of the summer and one at the end. Both times, I spent part of the week off starting the next term early.

I’m also hoping to take the Intuit exam again and see if I can get a job there working from home. I think I can pass it this time and it’s been more than a year since I’ve tried.

In October, my daughter got an opportunity to speak to an astronaut, which was amazing.

She was prepping for this for about a month, so it was really amazing to see her get the opportunity to speak to an actual astronaut on the ISS.

I’ve mostly been hanging out with my boyfriend. I met him about a week before my last Sunday Post. We’ve been going to the movies, bowling, and sometimes book shopping.

Friday- 2026 Reading Goals

Tuesday, I will be posting how I did on my 2025 reading goals, Thursday will be a tag, and Saturday I’ll be telling you about my favorite songs of 2025.

Currently, I am still reading The Passengers. I am working hard right now at some final projects for school, so I haven’t been reading much. I know I’ll have so much more time for reading when I have my break.

This week, my boyfriend and I went to a Premier show of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. I have been seeing so many mixed reviews on this movie, which was very surprising to me.

I have not ever played any of these games, but I have watched people play them on YouTube. I’m not really a person who watches video game content a lot. However, when the first movie was announced by Blumhouse, I wanted to catch up on the lore.

When watching the first movie, i thought it was pretty okay. It definitely could have been better, but it wasn’t bad. However, this movie was significantly better. It really felt like they took the criticism that a lot of people had of the first movie and fixed it.

A lot of people were upset that the first movie wasn’t really scary. I also agree with this. I mean, we should have at least gotten one foxy chase scene. This movie turned up the horror by a lot. It’s pretty violent as well, but most of it is off screen. It’s still sort of kid friendly. A big portion of the fan base of this video game is children, so I know they kept that in mind when creating the movies.

I was so lucky to have one of them behind me in the theatre, kicking my seat through the whole movie. I did not take my daughter to this because she HATES scary stuff.

The other major criticism that a lot of people had was that it didn’t incorporate any of the video game elements. If you’ve never heard of this game before, in Five Nights at Freddy’s, you play a security guard who looks after these old animatronics being Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, and Chica, at a closed down pizzaria. It’s very inspired by Chuck E Cheese. You basically have to survive the night while all of them attempt to kill you.

There is a whole backstory and storyline about how the animatronics have ghosts of dead children in them that were murdered by this man named William Afton, who is one of the owners of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

In the second game, there are even more animatronics including one called the Marionette, who can control other animatronics. The Marionette was the first animatronic to have the spirit of a dead child in it, and it was so unsettling in this movie. Just the way it moves around and everything.

There is a scene in this movie where the main character ‘plays’ the game, which I really liked. He isn’t playing a game, but sort of acting out what happens in the second game.

I really liked this movie a lot. I like how chaotic it is and how you leave the movie with lots of different theories and questions. It’s very reminiscent of how the games feel. I’m excited to see what they do next with this movie franchise. I am also wondering how many they will make. I know they said they’d do 3 movies, but they could do so many more. I think there are around 8 games?

We also got some of the merch! First, they gave us this GIANT free poster. But, I also got the metal popcorn bucket and cup with Chica. I only wanted the cup, but you had to get both.

My boyfriend ended up getting the Freddy head popcorn bucket. It’s actually really cool. You can store things inside of it, the eyes light up, and the face comes off to be worn as a mask. They didn’t have that cupcake bottle, or I bet he would’ve bought it as well.

I’ve only ever bought one of those cups one other time and it was when the last Scream movie came out. So now chica is sitting on my shelf next to Ghost Face.

Last night, I also watched Weapons. I was looking forward to this movie for a long time and it was just a miss for me. I mostly think it was because of the way that the story is formatted. Like it kept jumping all over the place from the past to the present with different perspectives, and it felt very disjointed. I really did not like that at all.

YouTube Wrapped

This week I got my Spotify and YouTube stats. I was in the top 2% of listeners on Spotify for Enhypen!

Enhypen even took the spot of my most listened to artist, which has been Melanie Martinez for the past few years. Enhypen and &Team are really such good artists. &Team was my most listened to on YouTube.

Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
