Book Blogger Confessions Tag

Hello readers! It’s time for a tag post. I’m surprised I’ve never done this one before. I know I’ve taken an unintended hiatus this past two weeks, but I am hopefully back!

I’m not fully certain, but I think this tag was created by I Would Rather Be Reading here on WordPress. It’s the oldest one I can find, so I think it’s the original.

black Water Sister has been on many TBRs for me. I finally got around to picking it in July and I just couldn’t get into it.

This is the type of story that I’ve actually read from quite a few times. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don’t. The main character is from America and she takes a trip to her birth country of Malaysia on a self-exploration journey.

She is staying with family in Malaysia and they keep telling her that she’s doing all these weird things at night when she knows she’s asleep.

I just couldn’t get into it. I think the story was just too slow for me.

Unhinged and other object romances are something that I discovered in 2023. I understand why most people absolutely hate these. But, i personally love him because they’re really bizarre.

If you’re going to try any kind of object romance i absolutely recommend this one because it’s only 70 pages, is only 99 cents on ebook, and it’s on Kindle unlimited if you have that.

I’vve read this entire series from beginning to end. I don’t really like this series but for some reason I still enjoyed reading them anyway. I actually think that this series helped me critically read better because of how much I didn’t like it.

I also own Clockwork Angel, which I hope to get to one day. I know it’s an unpopular opinion to dislike this series, but I have so many issues with each book.

i really had to think about this one for a while but genuinely I would pick Allegiant, the last book in the Divergent trilogy.

i didn’t like the ending of this series but genuinely that’s not even what I hated about it those book the most. This book was dual POV and i had a really hard time distincting the from one another.

But also the fact that I feel Four’s character changed too much in this book. His actions just didn’t make sense for the character. It’s almost as if this book was written by a different person.

I think most of use who have read this series can agree we’d like to throw this in the sea and get a redo.

This may be an odd one but my most read book is a Christmas Carol. I’ve read this book probably more than 10 times in my life and I honestly thought about rereading it this year.

I think this is such a great message and overall storyline. It’s been an inspiration for so many movies and books to come after it. And, I love watching the movies as well.

And, I cannot deny that my favorite Christmas movie being It’s a Wonderful Life is inspired by this story as well.

I would say anything by Colleen Hoover. I’ve never been interested in her as an author and if anyone gave me one of her books, I would not be happy.

This author is very polarizing and I just know without ever reading one of her books that I would not be on the positive half of that.

I was thinking on this one for a while and I think I’ll pick Twilight. I just don’t think I’d be the reader I am today if I wasn’t obsessed with Twilight in my teens.

This really sparked my love for vampire books, which I don’t read enough anymore. I have been hoping this trend will come back one day, but there is plenty of backlist for me to try in the meantime.

This wasn’t my first book, but it was the first one I was obsessed with and so was all my friends. I was an avid Team Jacob girl and even had a purse that said Team Jacob on it. I miss this era of books!

I am eventually going to reread this in tandem with my first read of Midnight Sun.

I have to go back to Allegient for this one. The reason this book makes me so mad is that I can’t even recommend the series to anyone because of it.

I have been thinking about series I can read with my daughter in the future lately because we are going to be reading Narnia together, and this series did come to mind. But, how can I even read them with her knowing how bad this last book is? I will skip this and just stick to the Hunger Games.

I have to say The Librarian of Auschwitz. This is the true story of Dita Kraus during the holocaust. Today, Dita Kraus is 96-years-old. During the beginning of this story, she was a young teen from what at that time was Czechoslovakia.

This book tells her story during her time at Auschwitz along with a little bit after it. The most heartbreaking details were those after it all ended. I was not prepared for it. I saw that she wrote her own autobiographical book a few years ago and this one is a biographical, so I hope to check it out in the near future. This book has also been turned into a graphic novel that I haven’t read.

Honestly, I am really starting to dislike the trend of everything being a special edition from the first moment it’s published. It used to be that only well loved books had pretty editions. And, I am not the type of person who really likes having them, so I feel like they are being forced onto me.

I like having pretty editions of classic novels, and there are so many different ones to choose from. But that is the difference. I get to choose to have it.

This may seem like a weird thing to dislike, but I can’t help it. Books are becoming more about what is on the outside than the inside. There is nothing wrong with wanting special editions, but if every book is special then none of them are.

I’ve read quite a few classics, but haven’t gotten around to Pride and Prejudice or anything by Jane Austen.

To be honest, I have read quite a few retellings of it and haven’t like them, so that is making me think I won’t like this book either. I’d still like to get to it one of these days just to see if the original is just too good to be retold.
