August 15-21 – Do you visit and share books in Little Free Libraries in your area?

I do use Little Free Libraries. I can’t say I visit them on a super regular basis, but there’s one in my neighborhood that I stop by on occasion. Most of the time, I go when I’m taking a walk around the neighborhood or when I have a book to drop off.

The last time I visited, I found the first Percy Jackson book and brought it home for my daughter to try. I once even came across an ARC of Apple: Skin to the Core by Eric Gansworth, which I had been wanting to read for a while. I love that you never quite know what treasures you’ll come across. Sometimes it’s exactly the right book at exactly the right time!

I have a few books from the unhaul I did last month that I plan to drop off soon, although the one closest to my house is usually very full. Since there aren’t any local bookstores where I can sell them, I’m glad Little Free Libraries give them a new home.

One of my favorite things about the Little Free Library in my neighborhood is the addition of dog treats and a leash hook. The leash holder can be seen in the second pic below.

A few years ago, I did an event with Celadon where I put a copy of Kingdoms of Savannah into my local Little Free Library. I wish I could talk to whoever took the book. I’d love to know their thoughts.

Do you ever donate to Little Free Libraries? I have put dozens of books into Little Free Libraries over the years. I’d love to have one on my own property one day. They are around $300, so it might be a while before I try it.

Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨

  1. There are several round my area and I put lots of read books there. Like you, I’d quite like one outside my house!

  2. I like the idea of little free libraries & have some around me, but every time I look they’re not very good. It’s like people use them to dump books they feel bad about just throwing away. I have donated on occasion.
