Life Update|
I’m now at the end of my 6th week of the current term. I’m doing really well still. I am son my way to getting over 3.7 GPA! As long as I don’t bomb my final, I should make it. I am crossing my fingers. 🤞
This past two weeks have been pretty mild. I started taking some new vitamins and had a reaction to one of them. I couldn’t figure out which one it was. I have IBS, so I am very sensitive to foods and things like that.
Turns out, it was the biotin in my hair, skin, nails vitamin. I literally thought for a minute that I was having appendicitis or something because of the pain. It wasn’t extremely painful, but more the location of the pain that scared me. BUT, I am fine now.
I started a 529 plan for my daughter! I am hoping this next week to apply for 21st Century Scholars for her, too. I’m only going to be able to do 10 dollars a month right now for the savings, but I figure it’s better than nothing.
I was researching where I could start a college savings for a child and found out about the 529 account. If she gets into 21st Century Scholars, she can use this money for books. I would LOVE if she could leave college debt free or with minimal debt.
Last weekend, I went to my cousin’s birthday party. The cousin I mentioned in my last Sunday Post is the older sister of this cousin. She turned 18 this past weekend and she had a little sleepover. My daughter ended up staying the night and she had a ton of fun. They did a game called Twister Splash, which is a water version of Twister. They also did s’mores and most of the kids camped outside.
I went to the soft launch of a restaurant on Monday. Chipotle launched a store where I live and my daughter’s dad is working there so we were invited to the soft launch the day before they opened.
I haven’t had Chipotle in probably 6 years! I used to live in a town that had one and we moved to Terre Haute in 2020 with no Chipotle in site.
After Chipotle, we went shopping for dresses for my cousin’s wedding that I mentioned in the last Sunday Post. The only person who got a dress was my daughter. My mom actually got an outfit for my cousin’s wedding already, then my cousin said there is a dress code, and that outfit doesn’t fit it.
My daughter starts 7th grade on Tuesday! I am not excited to get up early every day, but I am excited to help her grow academically. We worked pretty hard to grow her GPA in the 2nd half of 6th grade.
Really, the only issue was turning in her work. If she forgot to do a math assignment, she was not allowed to turn it in late. And this teacher was assigning math homework on Saturdays, which I didn’t know about.
Once I started checking it every single day, she would get things turned in and her grades went up.
I had an issue all year in 6th grade with teachers not communicating with me at all. I hope this year is so much better! I found out about this app called ParentSquare and there is a parent version of Canvas, too. So, I hope this helps me out.

📚 What I’m Reading|

I finally started a book that isn’t a middle grade! Earlier this week, I just had the urge to start a romance book. And, I really only wanted to read one I own, so I ended up with From Blood and Ash. I’ve also been reading mainly fantasy books these days, so this was perfect.
I also am trying to challenge myself to read at least 50 pages a day and I’m writing this at 2AM, so I haven’t read anything on Sunday yet, but I am on a 3 day streak!
I really just hope to get myself back into reading. I’m still at that place where I will pick up a book and then will have that feeling that I don’t want to be reading. I want to fix it so much! It’s been over a year now since I had that exciting feeling from just wanting to read.
Anyhow, the book follows a maiden named Poppy who is never to be touched, no one is allowed to see her face, and no one is supposed to talk to her either.
I DID NOT realize this was a vampire book! No one told me that or I probably would’ve picked it up sooner. It’s sat on my shelf for quite a few years now.
Funny story actually. My mom bought me this book for Christmas a few years ago. Once it arrived in the mail, the package was empty! I didn’t know at the time it was supposed to be this book. But I went to the mailbox and found an open and empty package. I can’t believe the mailperson delivered it like that!
So, someone stole the book and she had to report it to Amazon to get a new copy.
I am 170 pages in and am really enjoying it. I was Googling a specific thing about the book and completely spoiled a big plot point, but I am not going to let it ruin the book for me.
I’ve learned in 2025 to not give up on goals. I used to be the person that would set out to do something every day and if I missed a day, I would just quit. I’m trying to forgive myself for failing. So, if I skip a day of reading, I will just let it roll off me.
📺 What I’ve Watched|
I don’t think I’ve watched anything this past week! Well, I may have watched an episode of En o’clock. But that is it.
🎧 What I’m Listening To|
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this song before, but the one I’ve had on repeat the most is Bad Influence by Seventeen. I HATE that Spotify doesn’t have the explicit version.
Other than that, I’ve been listening to music I loved in the 90s to early 2010s. Does anyone remember this song? Hearing this song was so nostalgic!
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
