Hello readers! It’s time for a tag post. This one is a fun challenge of twenty questions of random book things you have or don’t have.
I know this was created by a Booktuber, but I don’t know who or if their video still exists.
Do you have a book with deckled edges?

Yes! Honestly, I really hate deckled edges, so I don’t have many books with them. But they are pretty popular in middle grade books. Most of Series of Unfortunate Events have those deckled edges.
Do you guys like deckled edges? I just find them annoying because it’s hard to turn the page.
Do you have a book with three or more people on the cover?

The first one I saw on my shelf is Battle Royale. There is at least 5 people on this cover. Honestly, the longer you look at it, the more people you see.
Battle Royale is a dystopian novel where nearly 50 teens get put on an island where they have to kill each other until only one is left. It is such a good book and of my favorites of 2024.
Do you have a book based on another fictional story?

Long Live the Pumpkin Queen is sort of a continuation of Nightmare Before Christmas. I need more people to read it!
It follows Sally when the Sandman puts everyone to sleep in every world except her (and Zero). We get to see behind all the other doors that weren’t shown in the movie, and where Sally is from. Sally was actually born and not created!
Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?

I have Christine by Stephen King. This is actually one I have not read by him.
I have seen the movie, though. It’s basically about a car that kills people.
I am not even kidding when I say I have nearly twice the amount of Stephen King books I haven’t read than the ones I have. He just has so many books! I’ll read them one day.
Do you have a book with a title that starts and ends with the same letter?

I was searching my shelves and I found that 3 of the four Twilight books start and end with the same letter! That is such a weird coincidence.
Do you have a mass market paperback book?

I own 7 books in mass market paperback. I used to own a ton more, but I really hate them.
Lisey’s Story was the book that made me into a reader. I really like King’s movies and picked up his latest book at the time (2006) and read it.
I was 12 at the time and it made me a reader. I was thinking about rereading it in 2026 because it’ll be 20 years since I read it the first time. I’d have to get a second copy, though. Mine is very old and busted.

Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?

The first book I ever read by Sophie Kinsella, whose real name is Madeleine Wickham. She got me into romance. I really thought I’d never like that genre (outside of vampire romance).
I recently found out she has cancer and that is so heartbreaking. She is one of my favorite authors.
She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2022, but revealed it publicly last year.
Do you have a book with a character’s name in the title?

I have dozens of books that fit this prompt, but I thought I’d go with the Lunar Chroncles. Each book is named after the main character; Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter.
I read these books quite a few years ago and really loved them at the time. I feel like I’m mentioning so many series from 2000’s and 2010’s today.
Do you have a book with two maps in it?

This was a tricky one! But I have Priory of the Orange Tree. There are two maps in the front of this book.
This is one I haven’t read yet and really need to! I have owned it since probably 2020.
Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?

I’ve been rereading Percy Jackson lately and loving it all over again. I know it was turned into a show on Disney+, but I haven’t watched it yet. I haven’t heard much about it either.
Season two comes out in December, so it’d be the perfect time to try it.
I actually bought my daughter book one in this series for her birthday, so I hope she ends up getting into it, too.
Do you have a book written by someone who was originally famous for something else? i.e. celebrity, athlete, politician, TV personality, etc.

I only have a few, none that are celebrity memoirs or anything like that. One I have is I AM HAUNTED by Zak Bagans.
Zak Bagans is best known as the host of the TV show Ghost Adventures. But he also has a haunted museum in Las Vegas. I personally would NEVER go there. I’m not willing to risk any bad spirits near me.
People can say these things are not real all they want, but I’m not taking any changes. Did anyone else hear about that Annabelle doll death? Also, Post Malone having all that bad luck after touching the dybbuk box in Bagan’s museum. I could never take that chance.
Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?

I had to do a bit of digging for this, but I have Clockwork Angel. It has what appears to be Big Ben on the cover.
This is a bit off topic, but I used to think it was called Big Pen when I was a kid. The top of the building does look like the tip of one of those old feather quills, so that was my thought process.😂
Anyhow, it has a clock on the building, so it counts.
Do you have a poetry book?

For this prompt, I chose Egghead by Bo Burnham, a collection of poems that perfectly blends humor, introspection, and wit. The only other poetry book I own is Falling Up by Shel Silverstein, and I honestly think Egghead is an adult version of Silverstein’s work.
I’ve been a long-time fan since Words Words Words, and I even watched his show Zack Stone Is Gonna Be Famous each week until it was prematurely cancelled. What makes my copy extra special is the signed book plate I received by preordering. Bo sent a signed plate if you emailed proof of preorder when the book first came out.
Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?

For this prompt, I chose Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli, which has the John Newbery Medal on its cover. I first read this book as required reading in school and enjoyed it so much that I bought myself a copy as an adult.
It’s a timeless story that stuck with me. It was the first time I read a story that centered segregation in this way. I personally am a white person who grew up in a sundown town, so I found this perspective really relatable.
I do see how his character can be perceived as a white savior, though.
Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?

I did NOT think I would find one, but I did! I have Star Wielder by Annah Wyatt.
I haven’t read this one yet, but I believe it is a fantasy romance book. It’s an indie author and the cover art is absolutely stunning.
Do you have a book of short stories?

I have to use SK again because I don’t really read anthologies. This is one I really loved, not because of the stories, but of everything else.
I loved the bits in-between the stories where he explained where the ideas came from and other things about his past.
Do you have a book that is between 500 and 510 pages long?

I have Blood Promis (503), Never Fade (507), and The Lost Symbol (509).
Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?

Little Women has been adapted quite a few times into movies. This is the book in my collection I’ve owned the longest, and I honestly have never seen an adaptation of it.
I was thinking I might reread it this year and maybe I’ll check out a movie afterward.
Do you have a graphic novel?

I only have 3 or 4 graphic novels and my favorite is March by John Lewis. This is a nonfiction book series about Lewis’ life and activism.
PLEASE read this series or anything by John Lewis. He is the definition of an American hero. Genuinely the only politician I ever cared about as a person. He did a lot of good for this country and he won’t soon be forgotten.
Do you have a book written by two or more authors?

This was so hard to find! The Doll People is written by two authors plus has an illustrator. Essentially, if you (or your kids) like Toy Story, this has that exact vibe. It’s about a sentient doll family.
There is some lore about how they are alive, and stories about how the dolls are passed down from generation to generation. I really love this series and it’s so underrated!
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
