Hello readers! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these, so I thought I’d do a Sunday Post. I have been a fair level of busy these past few weeks.
The Sunday Post was created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!
Life Update|
Since my last update, which was 2 weeks ago, I have been pretty busy with school. I’m currently ending my 4th week of my current term out of 8. I have 98.77% in one course and 100 in the other.
If I manage to get an A in both classes, I’ll make it over 3.7 GPA, which would make me eligible for the Presiden’t List! I really am trying to make it on there by the end of the year. My current GPA is 3.63.
I also got invited to an honor society this week! I am going to wait a few weeks and see if I get invited to other ones before I accept, though.
I went and got my haircut for the first time in almost a year and my hair is currently longer on the left than the right side. So, I need to go get it cut again this next week.
Last weekend, I went to and helped set up for my cousin’s bridal shower. It went pretty well. There were a ton of people there and everyone had a good time besides the extreme downpour of rain.
My cousin is getting married later this year. She works at Purdue in the marketing department. To the left is a video of her from when she started working there.
My daughter was at her maternal grandparent’s house this last weekend, so she didn’t go to the shower with me.
I honestly have never been to a bridal shower before! I’ve been to many baby showers, but never a bridal one.
I didn’t have one or any sort of a traditional wedding because I didn’t want to. This may sound odd, but I don’t like being the center of attention. I know having a wedding where I am the center of attention would just make me really anxious.
I am going to go shopping in the next few weeks to get myself and my daugter something to wear for this wedding. I’m not sure if I should stick to fall colors, or what type of look I should go for.
Other than that, I have spend this few days in bed doing mostly nothing because I’ve been having an IBS flare up. I started taking some new vitamins and they did not agree with me at all.

Upcoming This Week|
So far, all I have planned for this week is a Down the TBR Hole post and a wrap up most likely this next weekend for what I read in July. I don’t know what the Let’s Talk Bookish topic is for this week yet, so I may do that as well.
Let me know what you’d like to see from me! I am putting together my August plans this week.
📚What I’m Reading|

I am just on a Rick Riordan kick right now. I’m 300 pages into Red Pyramid at the moment. This is a really good book so far.
I like this because it’s more action packed than Percy Jackson. I think this would be a good transition series from middle grade to YA. The Kane Chronicles deals with pretty serious topics, like parental death, but is still whimsical at the same time. There is still that youthful and somewhat silly humor to it as well.
I’m enjoying the series so far and am excited to continue next month. I actually think I’m going to try a Rick Riordan presents series next called Tristan Strong.
Tristan Strong follows West African and African American mythology. That is absolutely another one that I’m completely unfamiliar with.
As a Helenic Pagan, I am very familiar with Greek Mythology, so it’s nice to read something like the Kane Chronicles, which focuses on Egyptian mythology.
📺What I’ve Watched|
Most of what I’ve been watching lately is YouTube. I watch Hasan Piker and Denims videos when their fans upload their Twitch streams to YouTube.
I found the topic so fascinating about online gamers. They really remind me of those white wome on Booktok. The conservative gamers online are mad about diversity in video games, and they say they don’t want to play games they can’t relate to.
I was shocked hearing this because literally Booktok girls say the same thing about diverse books. They say they can’t read POC authors because they can’t relate to the characters as if the only thing relatable is skin color.
I fell down a rabithole this last week of old Hasan videos where he was talking about this.
Other than that, I’ve been watching En o’clock because it started back up again! I will never complain about Enhypen content.
🎧What I’m Listening To|
I’ve been going back this month and listening to music I loved when I was a kid. I miss when music on the radio was so diverse! I used to listen to everything from country to r&b to rock music, and it would all be on the same station.
I remember watching Making the Band and being obsessed with Danity Kane. Honestly, it had me thinking about how I would mostly listen to girl groups when I was a kid and now that I’m an adult, I mostly listen to boy groups in Kpop. I try to skip the end of the song where Diddy starts yapping.
I would stay up and watch music videos on MTV all night in the summer. The only place to watch them at the time was MTV or Yahoo! Music. Let me know if you guys watched Yahoo! Music in the 2000s!
In the 90’s/2000’s I had my own non-explicit copy of so many CDs like Devil Without a Cause by Kid Rock.
Even going back and listening to country is jarring. I miss when country was either sad, wholesome, or funny. Now it’s white supremacy. As someone who grew up in a sundown town, I am disgusted by that Jason Aldean song that came out in 2023.
Not gonna lie, I was cackling listening to Back When by Tim McGraw again. This song is even funnier now that I’m an adult. As a bonus, Tim McGraw is NOT a Trump supporter.
Another song I’ve had on repeat is Better Than Me by Wonho. I think I mentioned this one in my Favorite Songs of 2025 (so far) post.
This song is so catchy and I catch myself singing it all the time. Have you listened to this one yet?
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
