Hello readers! I didn’t read a lot in 2025, but I did manage to start quite a few series. 5 to be exact. So, let’s talk about the five series I started in 2025 and whether I will be continuing them.

Nevermoor is a series following Morrigan who is destined to die on her 11th birthday. She is treated really badly by everyone around her because they all think she is cursed and rubbing her curse off on them.
When she reaches her birthday, a man named Jupiter North swoops in and takes her to a magical place called Nevermoor.
I’ve now read the first 2 books in the series, with the hopes of reading book three this month. I know it’s a series that is far from over, but there are currently 4 books.

Vanderbeekers book one was such a cute story. It follows a family who is being evicted from their home right before Christmas. All the kids get together and try to prevent it from happening.
It was a cute book, but I don’t really have a pull to continue the series. I think it would’ve been fine as a standalone. If I hear something amazing about another book in the series I might try it one day, but who knows.

Love Redesigned is the first book in the Lakefront Billionaries series. I really did NOT like this book. I didn’t like a single thing about it. Not the characters, the plot, the dynamic of the romance.
However, I have read the Dreamland Billionares series and I’d like to at least give book two a try before I write it off completely.
This one also had the second chance romance trope, and I don’t tend to love that.
After I try book two, I’ll definitevly decide on continuing with it and this author.

The Gilded Monsters series is a paranormal romance series where each book follows different people. The first one is a vampire book and is a retelling of Great Gatsby, book two is a retelling of Picture of Dorian Gray, and book three will be a retelling of Wuthering Heights.
I really enjoyed reading these first two books. Book three comes out in about a week and I am both excited and not at the same time. I read Wuthering Heights in high school, and then again as an adult, and I didn’t like it either time.
HOWEVER, I am still hoping to like it, and if I don’t, it’s only for one book.

This Poison Heart is a fantasy duology following a girl who is the descendent of the goddess Hekate. It’s sapphic and has a lot of plant magic in it.
Book one was really strong and book two fell so flat for me. I think it may have been better as a trilogy or something. It just felt so rushed in the second book.
I’m hoping to try something else down the line by this author because I genuinely did enjoy This Poison Heart a lot.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
