Hello readers! It’s time for another Sunday Post. I hope everyone had a good week. I know in America, not everyone was excited for the 4th of July. Personally, I don’t always do things for it, but I wanted to do something fun with my daughter this year.
I get why everyone is feeling less than patriotic in the U.S this year. When I look at 4th of July, it reminds me of the real American heroes. Not just veterans. but the ones who fight for rights domestically, too.
America gained it’s independence via protesting and rebellion, and it’s that type of person that makes me proud to be an American. People like Martin Luther King Jr, NWA, or even former Representative John Lewis. People who risked their lives for their rights and the rights of others.
I hope we can remember people like them felt just like we do now. Things are better now than they were 50 or even 100 years ago, and they will be better 50 years from now as long as people are willing to stand up for what is right, even when the future isn’t looking the brightest.

Life Update|
This week my daughter came back home from her paternal grandmother’s house. It took a few days to settle back in, but it’s mostly back to normal now.
We had a pretty busy day on 4th of July. We don’t usually do much, but I wanted to do more now that I am the main parent. There was so much I was never able or allowed to do, so I wanted to do as much as I can now.
My mom, daughter, and I went to Linton, Indiana bright and early for the Freedom Festival parade. I lived in Linton until I was about 11 years old, so I used to go to this all the time as a kid.
This parade lasted for two entire hours. They gave out all kinds of candy and popsicles to the kids. There were many different floats and the Shiners were even there on these little scooters that looked like cars.
The only negative was that it was super hot.
We then went to Brazil for what I thought was the popcorn festival, but that actually ended 2 years ago. There still was a fair, but it was different.
I lived in Brazil my teen years and early 20s. I honestly have lived a little bit of everywhere in Indiana.
I used to go to this popcorn festival all the time and they would give out free popcorn. It was a celebration of Orville Redenbacher, who is from Brazil, Indiana. I have no idea why it ended.
We still got pineapple ice cream and rode some rides. All three of us did bumper cars, so that was really fun.
Lastly, we ended the night back in Terre Haute with fireworks and sparklers.
Today is my daughter’s 12th birthday, so we are planning a few things. We will probably go out somewhere for dinner, go hang out at the mall, and whatever else she is wanting to do. She said she wanted to go bowling, but we will see what happens.

📚 What I’m Reading|

I am around half way through Battle of the Labyrinth right now. I have been pretty busy this week with the first week of a new term at school, my daughter coming home, a holiday, and a birthday. But I am still squeezing in reading time when I can.
If I have time, I plan to finish this one so I can start a new book for the first day of the Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do.
📺 What I’ve Watched|
This week I binged all of the final season of Squid Game. I noticed when looking online that a lot of people didn’t like this season, but I enjoyed it.
Nothing went the way I expected it to, but I don’t see it as a wholley negative thing.
Did you guys watch Squid Game season 3 this week? What did you think?
🎧 What I’m Listening To|
One song I randomly discovered this past few weeks is Frequency by WayV, a cpop group. I honestly listen to them only casually and missed this one when it came out in December.
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
