Life Update|

It has been a little crazy. I finished another term at SNHU. It’s almost been a year now that I’ve been attending. I did really well on my courses this term. I managed to get 98% in one and 99% in the other. I’ve never done anywhere near that well in all the time I’ve been attending.

So, that means I’ll make honor roll again! This next term I am taking Managerial Accounting and Managing and Leading in Business. I’m not too worried about either of this courses at this point.

My daughter comes home this week. She has been gone at her paternal grandmother’s house for almost a month now. Her birthday is coming up and I wanted to take her to a carnival or something for 4th of July.

Do you guys do anything for 4th of July? I am not the biggest 4th of July person. I think last year we just sat outside and did some sparklers while watching people in our neighborhood doing fireworks. But sometimes we will go see fireworks.

I am from Brazil, Indiana. And if you don’t know Orville Redenbacher is from Brazil, Indiana. Every year on and around the 4th of July, there is a popcorn festival there where they give away free popcorn and they have a ton of rides, too. They also do fireworks.

We are either doing that or something similar. I just hope it isn’t too hot.

We had ANOTHER power outage. This one wasn’t as long as the last one. It was for nearly 12 hours this time. Someone hit a gas line of some sort and caused this huge gas leak. So, they turned the power off for around 1200 people.

People who were close by had to evacuate, but I was far enough away that I wasn’t in any real danger.

I did manage to finish a book while waiting, so that wasn’t bad. I didn’t read anything during the last power outage because it was way too hot. I can’t focus on anything I like doing when I am covering in sweat and haven’t been able to shower.

We had a really bad heat wave this week. We usually get one every year, but it’ll be in August. I do not do well in the heat at all, so I’ve been staying inside.

I forgot to add photos of the flowers in my front yard. This flag in the picture actually got torn to pieces during the storm last week, so it’s gone now.

The purple lilys we have came from seeds I planted from a bouquet at my grandma’s funeral back in 2021. They are still growing and multiplying every single year.

📚 What I’m Reading|

While the power was out on Friday night, I managed to finish the audiobook of This Poison Heart. I really, really loved it.

So, I immediately started book two and made it 25% through the book. I’m hoping to finish this book by the end of the month.

This is a duology follows Briseis who can control plants. She is adopted, and she learns that her biological aunt died and left her this giant estate, so she and her moms go live there for a summer.

I really enjoyed it a lot. I love the mythology in it. It’s a retelling of the Secret Garden mixed with Greek mythology. I did not expect the ending to go the way it did and it left on a place that I had to immediately read book two.

I’m hoping to get this book finished by the end of this month, so I can begin July with finishing my reread of Percy Jackson.

📺 What I’ve Watched|

Yesterday night I started the 3rd and final season of Squid Game. I am enjoying it so far and am excited to see how it ends.

I read online that there will be new ones coming out in the next few years set in America and other countries. I’m excited to see what happens with the Squid Game universe going forward.

🎧 What I’m Listening To|

Bad Influence by Seventeen came out 2 or 3 weeks ago and I just recently added it to my playlist.
