Summer 2025 New Releases I Can't Wait to Read

Hello readers! The summer reading season upon us, and this year’s lineup has me more excited than usual! There are so many fresh releases hitting shelves and my TBR pile is loving it.

King of Ashes S.A. Cosby

June 10

S.A. Cosby is an author I’ve always wanted to try, but have never gotten around to. I saw he has a new book coming out and so I put it on hold.

Summary: When Roman Carruthers returns home after his father’s suspicious car accident, he finds his family in crisis. His brother entangled with dangerous criminals and his sister overwhelmed by the family’s crematorium business. As threats close in, Roman uses his financial expertise to help, but soon realizes he’s out of his depth. Forced to work for the criminals, Roman is the family’s last hope. Meanwhile, his sister searches for the truth behind their mother’s long-ago disappearance. In a town where death is familiar, Roman is ready to do whatever it takes to protect his family. Because everything burns.

This Princess Kills Monsters Ry Herman

June 17

Summary: This one is a retelling of The Twelve Hunstman. It follows Princess Melilot, whose magical abilities are mostly useless. She is tired of being sent on deadly quests by her controlling stepmother. On her latest journey to marry a stranger, she’s attacked by monsters and saved by twelve mysterious masked huntsmen. As assassination attempts, a cryptic talking lion, and romantic confusion with both a huntsman and her fiancé’s sister complicate her path, Melilot must solve the kingdom’s mysteries and save herself before she’s trapped in a loveless marriage or something worse.

Don't Let Him In Lisa Jewell

June 24

Despite really loving Lisa Jewell’s books, I haven’t read one from her in over a year. And the last one I read was one I really didn’t like. I’m ready for redemption with her newest book!

Summary: Nick Radcliffe enters widowed Nina’s life, bringing comfort but raising red flags for her suspicious daughter, Ash. Ash’s investigation into Nick’s past reveals disturbing secrets. Meanwhile, nearby florist Martha grows uneasy about her husband Alistair’s frequent absences, sensing something deeply wrong beneath his reassurances. As the lives of Nina, Ash, and Martha intertwine, a dark truth begins to surface, one that none of them are prepared for. They’re about to learn the hard way that some men should never be let in.

How to Survive a Horror Story MAllory Arnold

July 8

Summary: Seven authors gather at the manor of the late horror legend Mortimer Queen, expecting to inherit his fortune. Instead, they’re trapped in a deadly game to solve a series of riddles to move through the rooms, or the manor will claim them one by one. Built on the bones of Mortimer’s family, the estate is a haunted place hungry for victims, and these writers must face the story within if they hope to survive.

Ruthless Revolution Rebecca F Kenney

July 22

This is book 3 in the Gilded Monster series. This is a paranormal/fantasy romance series of standalones retellings. Book one is Great Gatsby, book two is Picture of Dorian Gray, and this one is Wuthering Heights.

Although I’m excited for this one, I am also worried about it being a Wuthering Heights retelling because I really did not enjoy it. But, I’m going to give it a try anyway.

Summary: Cathy Earnshaw, feared and isolated in her cultish Southern community for her deadly gift of sensing death, struggles with uncontrollable grief and darkness. When she meets Heathcliff, they form a dangerous, intense bond. But their love is threatened by the dark secrets buried in their town’s history, where lies and sacrifice rule, and the community is ready to claim its next victim.

The Magician of Tiger Castle Louis Sachar

August 5

Summary: In the kingdom of Esquaveta, Princess Tullia faces a perilous arranged marriage meant to save her struggling realm. But she has fallen for a humble apprentice scribe, complicating the royal plans. The disgraced court magician Anatole, desperate to redeem himself after past failures, is tasked with creating a potion to secure the marriage. Caught between loyalty to Tullia and the king’s demands, Anatole must decide whether to betray the princess or risk his own downfall.
