Hello readers! It’s time for a Down the TBR Hole post. I hope everyone had a good weekend! Last time we ended on 168 and are starting out with 271.
START HERE if you haven’t read one of my Down the TBR Hole posts before.
If you’ve never heard of Down the TBR Hole before, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. If you want to see a more detailed version of how this works, check out Jody’s post. She is doing her Down the TBR Hole posts on Thursdays if you want to check those out!

I was really excited to try this book, but I just never got around to it because of the boycott. It’s going to be the deciding factor of whether I should even try this author again because I have both loved and hated books by them.

I know this is a scifi horror book that is sort like Handmaid’s Tale. I have almost read it so many times, but never get around to it. I would still like to get around to it one day, even if that average rating on Goodreads is really bad.

This is also an author I’ve almost read so many times. This one is a slasher, and most of the slashers I’ve read I did not like.
I am excited to try this one out in the future. I actually am hoping to get to it very soon.

This one is a middle grade novel following a Chinese girl who attends a cultural summer camp. I love middle grade books like this one, so I know I’ll get around to it at some point.

I actually don’t have any clue what this is about. But I do know it’s middle grade and the author is one I’ve read before. I read Figure It Out, Henri Weldon, which follows a young girl with dyscalculia, and I’d love to read something else by her in the future.

This is another one I don’t know what it’s about but have read from the author before. This author wrote The Night Tiger, which is magical realism and takes place in Malaysia in the 30’s.
I don’t typically read from either of those genres, so I’d like to go back to this author in the future.

I think I saw this one on Tik Tok, but I honestly do not remember. I think it’s a romance and I don’t see myself getting to it any time soon, so I’ll be removing it for now.

I think I added this one for a giveaway on Goodreads and I honestly have no idea what it’s about, so I am going to go ahead and remove it.

This is the 3rd book in a series that I’ve only read book two in and really, really disliked. I know I am an outlier in this case because EVERYONE loves Abby Jimenez’s books.
I just have no intention to ever read another book by her after reading book two. And I honestly DNF’d the book I read with 100 pages left.

You know, I was actually empathetic to Gypsy-Rose’s situation and was happy for her when she was released from prison. But honestly the way everything has gone since then has made me so uncomfortable.
She has become sort of a celebrity and I hate that. It’s so weird to glorify her life and the way things went. And the fact that she tries to deflect any responsibility for the death of her mother is so wrong.
I don’t have any intention to read this book anymore as I have seen all I needed to see from her.

I genuinely do not know anything about either of these books, so I am going to remove them. I suspect I may have added the one called Nine Tailed because that cover is gorgeous, but I’m not sure.
I’ll be removing book for now and we’ll see if they ever cross my path again down the line.
