Hello readers! It’s Thursday and time for a tag. This time, I was actually tagged! This is the Easter Book Tag. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday if you celebrate. I am going to be making a bunny cake for the first time and I am NERVOUS.
Please make sure to check out Mybookworld24‘s post. Thank you so much for tagging me!
Also, The Easter Book Tag was created by Booktuber RosieTheReader.
Rabbits – A book that you wish would multiply – So a book you want a sequel to (that doesn’t have one)

I have to say Battle Royale. I really loved this book, but I honestly wish it had more. I would’ve loved to see more of the world and how the events of this book affected the world.
I know there were manga that came out years later, but they do not follow the main character in this book.
It was such a good story and was so well developed, but we didn’t get to see as much as I wish we did.
Egg – A book that surprised you

Are y’all sick of me mentioning this book yet?
It’s not that I didn’t think I would like this book, but I didn’t think it would become a new favorite for me. I don’t read a lot of fantasy books in the middle grade category, so I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did.
It has opened my eyes to how much I can like middle grade fantasy books. I just love when a book proves me wrong about what I do and don’t like and that is why I always push past my comfort zone when it comes to books.
Hunt – A book that was hard for you to get your hands on

About 10 years ago now I bought myself a copy of The Bachman Books on Ebay for a little over 50 dollars. This book is so hard to get your hands on.
This previous edition included a story named Rage that is no longer in publication and therefore this edition isn’t either.
Rage is a story of a boy who commits a school shooting. In the 90’s, King was called out for inspiring school shootings, and he chose to pull it from the shelves.
Lambs – A children’s book that you still enjoy

One series I started reading as a kid was Diary of a Wimpy Kid and I still read it to this day. I never see adult middle grade lovers reading this series!
This is just a comfort series for me and I’ll keep reading it as long as Kinney is publishing them.
Spring – A book with a cover that makes you think of spring

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries always reminds me of spring because of the flowers and vines on the cover. I think it may not be the case for everyone because the cover is dark.
Jesus – A religious or spiritual book that you love

This is one of the best books I’ve read about religion. It’s a satirical look into religious people during the enlightenment era.
The purpose of this story is just about how few people were looking at Christianity through a critical lense. They were just believing whatever the church told them and it was a lot of time to the detriment of themselves.
Voltaire was exiled from France for the stories he wrote against the monarchy and the church. Less than 100 years before this, people were killed for saying the earth was round.
Rising from the dead – A book from a deceased author

This book is on my mind because I just got a copy of it, but also it kind of fits the theme of Easter because it’s inspired by the bible.
I’ve only learned about this recently and kind of want to restart the series with that in mind. I don’t know a lot about this, but I do know that Asland is supposed to represent Jesus and Edmund is supposed to represent Judas. I find this fascinating honestly.
Baskets – A book that is in your amazon cart or wish list right now

One book on my wishlist is Eden in Sunder, which is a retelling of Paradise Lost in a way. I have read it and it is actually very good. If you like retellings of things that you don’t see often, I’d highly recommend this one.
Candy – A book that is sweet

Measuring Up is a middle grade graphic novel following a young Taiwanese girl who recently moved to America. She joins a baking competition to earn money for her grandma back in Taiwan to come see the family on her 70th birthday.
This book is honestly so wholesome and so cute. I don’t read a lot of books with really positive messages, so this one really stands out.
