The Sunday Post 59: Spring Break & My 31st Birthday

The Sunday Post

Hello readers! It’s been two weeks since I updated, but I’m back with another Sunday Post. To be honest, I usually write The Sunday Post on Saturday night and last Saturday was my birthday, so I didn’t get around to it. However, I am here to tell you guys everything I did on my birthday AND what we did for my daughter’s Spring break.

One thing I haven’t done is read anything. I have been a bit busy and honestly have quite a few things to prioritize over it. And that is why I didn’t do a Wheel of TBR or any TBR for April. I am hopefully going to spend this month catching up.

For my birthday, we went shopping first. I needed to get my daughter some nice shoes for dressing up. We walked around the mall and just bought some clothes and other stuff. We discovered a store that has been in our local mall for 9 years and never noticed being Glik’s. I will be for sure going there again in the future! Their clothes were really cute.

We also went mini golfing, also in the mall. I told you guys about this when I went before in January, I think it was. It’s sort of mini golf and sort of virtual at the same time. Instead of the goal being to get the least amount of hits, the goal is to hit the ball in the fastest.

On Thursday, we went skating. I used to go skating ALL THE TIME when I was a kid. My parents would drop me off at the skate rink once a week or something. But I haven’t skated since I was that age. However, I did pretty well. I fell twice, but overall I didn’t do too bad.

My daughter has only been skating once or twice, and we have never done it together. We got her one of those walkers because her balance was shaky. By the end, she could almost skate without it.

On Saturday we went to the library book sale. It happens the first week of every single month and I always forget about it. My daughter and I both got some books before heading over to the Children’s Museum.

My daughter has been wanting to go back to the Children’s Museum here in Terre Haute for a while and I found a space event to go to that was really fun. Back in 2018, we went to both the Terre Haute one and the one in Indianapolis, and I am planning to do the same this year.

We met two people who trained to be astronauts and they told us that a mission is planning to launch to the moon next year called Artemis, and the crew is supposed to have a woman on board. Meaning the first woman ever could walk on the moon in 2026, if everything goes well.

Monday – Down the TBR Hole 17

Thursday – Get to Know My Reading Taste Tag

Friday – Let’s Talk Bookish: Reading For Relatability

On Tuesday, I am planning to post a Stacking the Shelves post, even though it is supposed to be on Saturdays, the Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag on Thursday, and an LTB post on Friday.

These past two weeks, I have mostly watched Rhett and Link on YouTube. I’ve known who they are all these years, but never really watched them. I just love food content and they do a LOT of it.

I also watched Adolescence on Netflix. This was such an amazing show and is a topic that needs brought up more. People just let boys do whatever they want and let the rest of us suffer.

My daughter started middle school this year and has been tormented by a few boys at her school. I am going to have her watch this one day in the future because it is so hard to navigate a world dominated by men and one that enables their behavior.

So many good songs have come out this month, even though we are only 6 days in. Here are some of my favorites so far!

Xiker’s Breathe is exactly what I expect from them. AND Junghoon is back after a two year hiatus. This type of music is right up my alley, so I love it.

My absolute favorite Kpop group Enhypen came out with a single song in English called Loose. They are going to be at Coachella this year, so they dropped a song a week before.

I was super nervous for Close Your Eyes’ debut. They were created from a survival show called Project 7, which I did watch all the way through. They ended up with 7 members, none of which were particularly main vocal material, but they have really pulled off a good song with their debut.

Even though I really hate their name, I am hoping for the best for this group in the future, especially after this release.

  1. I’m currently reading my way through The Lady Astronaut series so a woman actually walking on the moon sounds amazing
