Hello readers! It’s time for another Down the TBR Hole post. Last time we ended with 256 books, and we are starting with 255 on my Want to Read shelf. At least it didn’t grow this time! I am so happy to see that.
START HERE if you’ve never read one of my Down the TBR Hole posts before.
Essentially, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. If you want to see a more detailed version of how this works, check out Jody’s post. She is doing her Down the TBR Hole posts on Thursdays if you want to check those out!

This one is a non-fiction and I honestly saw it and just added it to my TBR. I do love a good memoir and I haven’t read one in a while.
Durrani is an activist from Afghanistan who fights for the education of girls and women, very similarly to Malala Yousafzai. She founded an online education system to help get access to education to young girls in Afghanistan.
I didn’t know who she was before seeing this book, but I’d love to learn more.

This one is a dark fantasy romance that follows pirates. I have never read a pirate book before, other than Treasure Island. I don’t read dark fantasy a lot, but I should!
I am not a big fan of dark romance, but I do like it in a fantasy setting, as long as it doesn’t get too taboo or anything. I think I’ll love this book, so I will absolutely be keeping it for now.

This one is the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, which is a very, very long running vampire series. I love vampire books and honestly am so excited to try this series.
Back in 2023, I read the prequel to the series called Darius and it was good. I just need to continue. You guys know my reading was all off in 2024, so I did not get around to any of the books in 2024.

This one was added because I’ve enjoyed books by this author before. I feel like no one likes her books except me. Her ratings are always really bad on Goodreads, but honestly, I really enjoy them.
I’ve read Mother May I and Never Have I Ever. I think it has a lot to do with the descriptions of the books. I never feel like the descriptions of her books actually describe what the book is about, which can lead to disappointment for readers.
Never Have I Ever is not really about the game never have I ever. They play it one time in the first chapter and it never comes back into the story. And Mother May I’s description makes the book seem like it’s paranormal or something, and it isn’t.

This was Alex Gino’s book that released in 2023. I wanted to get to it, but never got around to it. Gino is one of my favorite authors, so they’re an auto buy/read author for me.
I have no idea what this one is about. But I know it’s by Gino, so I will eventually get around to reading it.

This one is an anthology put together by Jordan Peele. I have read a book similar to this that I really did not like, but I liked the concept of it. The one I read was LGBT, not centering black voices, though.
I would love to get to this at some point, so I will be keeping it on the Want to Read shelf for the time being.

I cannot believe I haven’t read this book yet. I read so many celebrity books the year this came out and then just didn’t get around to it.
The hype around it has sort of died down, but I’d still love to read this. Britney Spears’ story is a really sad one and I really hope she is living her best life now that she is out of that prison. I can’t imagine the evil someone has to have in their heart to do that to their own family member.

I read an ARC for this author when I joined her ARC team and I really didn’t like it, so I know I shouldn’t read anything else by her. I left her ARC team right after reading that previous one.
It was this book that was a dark romance, sort of a horror romance, and I didn’t vibe with that at all. I’m sure the dark romance girlies would like it, but that taboo stuff just doesn’t work for me.

I was really excited to read this, but for some reason it is no longer available on Amazon, so I have no way of reading it even if I wanted to.
It was a monster romance anthology that was over 1k pages. It took place in a mall in the 1980s and I was excited to try it. I do like monster romances, so I was excited to read it. But I might as well remove the book if I can’t read it. I have no idea why it’s gone.

I genuinely have no idea why I ever added this to my TBR. I read a book by her in 2023 that I really did not like and I don’t have any interest in her in the future.
Maybe I added it because it’s a vampire book? I do love vampire books, but honestly, I don’t want to read this author again.

These two books are ones I have no idea what they are about and can’t remember why I added them.
It must be something about when I joined BookTok because I had 2 or 3 in the last one like this, too.
So, I am going to go ahead and remove these ones.
