Hello readers! It’s time to go through my Want to Read shelf again. Last time we ended on 249 books and we are going to go over at least 10 this time. I used to do 8, but it seems that was not the best idea.
START HERE if you’ve never read one of my Down the TBR Hole posts before.
Essentially, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. If you want to see a more detailed version of how this works, check out Jody’s post. She is doing her Down the TBR Hole posts on Thursdays if you want to check those out!

I read a few books centering menstration a few years ago and I’d like to read more in the future. I know a lot about it, but so many of them have really made me see how much girls are shamed for having periods, even though they are completely normal.
This book speaks on how periods have become a political issue in the most recent years including the pink tax, safe products, and the way periods are discussed.
I am going to keep this one as I still hope to get to it one day.

This one is a YA book following a teen who wants to get into a ballet program, but is discriminated against.
I am not reading YA much anymore, but I still want to try to read this one. I love when books center a character’s passion like ballet, painting, or even a sport. Is ballet a sport?
Either way, I’ll get to this at some point.

Grounded is a middle grade book about a bunch of kids stuck at a airport due to bad weather. It kind of sounds like that Christmas movie, Unaccompanied Minors.
I’m super excited to read this one still! I have really enjoyed books by both Aisha Saeed and SK Ali in the past, so I’m sure I’ll love this one, too.

This one is the sequel to What Moves the Dead. I loved that book and wanted to get to this last year, but I just didn’t get around to it.
I was so impressed with book one because it’s quite short, but didn’t feel too short. I have that feeling too often when reading books that the book isn’t the right length. I get the feeling the book is too long or too short a lot, but this one was perfect. I NEED to get around to book two in 2025.

This one appeared in last time’s post. I found out I had it on my Want to Read shelf THREE times.
The ratings on Goodreads are not great, but I’d still like to try it. I know it’s scifi, follows 3 or 4 different perspectives, and centers aliens in some way. Well, if this is still on the list by this time next year, I’ll go ahead and remove it, but it’s staying for now.

This is one that I don’t know if I want to read still. I did love book one, which is House of Salt and Sorrows, but I don’t have much of a motivation to try book two.
I just think book one wrapped up fine by the end of the book and I don’t know what could be added. The ratings are pretty good, so it might be worth a read. But I haven’t heard anyone in the book community talking about it, and I’m in nearly every corner of the book community.

This one is a nonfiction book of short stories that I added after reading It Came From the Closet, which I didn’t really like. I liked the idea of it, but I thought it wasn’t good.
Both books are about how a certain group is represented in horror movies. It Came From the Closet centers LGBT characters and this one black characters. I am hoping that this one is much better than the other one I read. AND I’d love to read that Jordan Peele one, which is probably on this TBR shelf somewhere.

Well, this one is on my physical shelf, so I will not be removing it any time soon. I got Yumi and the Nightmare Painter for my birthday last year and I need to get to it within this one.

I was thinking about it, and I did add this because it was about a teen mom and I thought that would be an important story to tell, but this is one I never think about.
I am really trying not to keep a book on the shelf just because it’s diverse in hopes that I’ll read it. If it’s meant to be, it’ll come back up another day.

I know this one is a thriller and a lot of people like it, but it just isn’t calling to me anymore. I don’t see myself getting to it any time soon, to be honest.
I don’t read thrillers too often, so I want to make sure I am really excited about the ones I do pick up.
