New Years Book Tag (2025 edition)

Hello readers! It’s time for another New Years Book Tag. I’ve done this two times before. Feel free to check out all the tags I’ve done before this one!

This tag was created by Booktuber Bookables.

This next year I am putting my Goodreads goal at 75, but I hope to read a ton more than that. I always adjust it for the amount I’m reading.

I’d like to read more horror in 2025. This is a genre I like, but I don’t commonly find the right books. Many times when I read horror, I don’t really like the book. But I think I’m just bad at picking when it comes to the genre.

  1. I’d like to reach 300 followers on here and do a giveaway.
  2. I had a goal to bake more in 2024, and I did do it. Especially at the end there, but I have recipes I want to try every single month in 2025.

For January, I want to try and make rice crispy treats and broccoli cheese soup. I know neither of those are baked items, but I have others. Let me know if you guys would like to hear them each month! I know you guys love it when I share my baked items.

3. Last year one of my goals was to work on my Spanish, which I did do, and this year I want to work on Korean a lot more.

My biggest problem is becoming able to understand but not speak the language. I can understand A LOT of Spanish and Korean, but I can’t really speak either language. I could do more in Spanish, but still.

I was researching this and it’s quite common for this to happen, and I would like to stop it before it goes any further.

I mean, I said this one last year and I probably will continue to put it as the answer for this question until I do read it. I’ve had this book for 3 or 4 years now and it’s time to finally read it!

I am so hesitant because the series is nowhere near being over. It could be more than 10 years away for it to be over, so that doesn’t really motivate me to read it much.

Fruitful. I really feel bad for myself this time last year hoping for a calm 2024. But in 2025, I want it to be an amazing and productive year. I want to make some amazing memories, and only the good kind.

I grew so much as a person in 2024 and I’m ready to move onto a much better time. I think my freaking character is developed enough at this point.

  1. Good luck with your goals especially the languages. It is so hard becoming fluent in the spoken language. My French isn’t bad but I’m still much more confident with listening than speaking. I generally take the easy way out and let my husband do the speaking ☹️I’m trying to learn Italian too and did manage to have a couple of short conversations when we went to Italy last year . Baby steps but they all count 😃

  4. Fun post! I loved Tress of the Emerald Sea and The Priority of the Orange Tree is also a book I’m planning to prioritize reading this year (despite how daunting it appears 🙈)!
