Hello readers! It’s the last day of 2024 and the last day of Blogmas. I wasn’t sure what to do for today’s post, so I went with redoing a post I did two years ago for Blogmas.
Let’s talk about some Bookish stats for every single book I own! If you are interested, check out my original post from 2022!
I am actually thinking I’ll do this again at the end of next year to see if I have made any progress. This is the best part of making posts like this! I get to go back and see what has changed over time, how my reading has changed, and how I’ve changed over time.
I currently own 385 physical books, 146 hardcover and 235 paperbacks. I am a paperback lover at heart! Do you guys prefer paperbacks or hardcovers?

First is read to unread ratio. I currently have 93 unread books. It went up because of Christmas. I am planning to tackle this in 2025 and get it down as far as possibe.
Back in 2022, I hadn’t read 18.1% of my books. I had read 290/355, so the TBR hasn’t increased too much in the past two years. But I’d still like to get it way down. Back in 2018, I got my TBR to less than 20. I don’t know if I can do that in 2025, but we will see!

Stand alone books have increased by nearly 5% in the past two years. I have really found so much value in stand alone books in the past few years. I used to almost exclusively read series. But, I’ve tried to get better about not starting so many.
There is something so satisfying about finishing a book and just being done with the story. Not everything has to be a series and I feel like too many authors don’t understand that.

This one shows what years I read the books I own. I only read 4 books that I own in 2024 and I’m hoping to up that a lot in 2025. My best year was 2019, but honestly, I only read so many because I bought over 100 books that year.

This one has changed so much! It’s the publishing date.
2020s has more than doubled. I am surprised how many I currently own just from the last four years as I don’t buy books as often anymore.

I am SHOCKED that I own more male than female authors because I honestly don’t read male authors as much anymore.
I haven’t tried to sway this one way or another, but the older I get, the less of the men’s books I’m reading. This probably has to do with Stephen King and Brandon Sanderson, because I own so many of their books respectively.

This one is so jam packed of genres. I used to only read paranormal romance in high school, but once I became an adult, I started reading everything. I love trying everything when it comes to genre.
Looks like my top three genres are mystery then paranormal and horror.

Now this one is page length. Not surprising that my most owned is 300-400 as that is the most common for publishing in general.
Despitethe fact that I’ve read so many books in the past two years that are under 200 pages, I don’t tend to buy short books. Big books just feel more like a trophy to me.
I like showing off the 500+ pages books I have managed to finish.

For age group, I thought I’d have more YA. Even though I don’t read it much anymore, I still own most of my books from when it was my favorite.

I am so happy to see that the books which are self published have doubled. I’ve really tried in the past two years to prioritize them more than ever.
I still read most of them on Kindle Unlimited or elsewhere, but I’d like to go back and buy some of my favorite ones from the past.
I thought about that for all my favorite books I’ve read but don’t own. I used my library so much now that I don’t own copies of a lot of my favorite books. I need to change this!
