The Sunday Post #51

Hello readers! Welcome to the last Sunday Post of 2024. I am still feeling a little sick, but I am doing much better than before. Thanks to anyone who stuck with me in 2024. It was a year I never thought I’d have, but I’m really grateful for it.

Going forward, I think I’m going to try and post 2 to 3 times a week. I don’t want to promise too much. I had a really fun time doing Blogmas this year. There is only one day left after today! At the bottom of this post, I’ll have the schedule I’m planning for January.

This week was Christmas, of course. I didn’t do much on the day itself. I woke up at around 7:30 to make a big breakfast for my family and then my daughter went to her dads at 1.

I got so many books for Christmas, lots of peeps, and even some Mini brands books, which was awesome. If you guys don’t know, I love Mini brands, so the tiny books were really cool.

I had a pretty relaxing week, which I needed a lot. I am not excited to have to take down the Christmas decorations this next month. It’s gonna be so much work 😩

In 2025, I am hoping to have a great year. I am starting my 2nd term of college with a history class and microeconomics. I genuinely don’t even know what microeconomics is, so I am worried for that class. I won’t be doing a class involving my actual major until term 3, which is in March.

I want to try to study Korean. I can read Korean (한글) and have been able to for a few years. I can understand a good bit of it, but would love to fully be fluent in it. I’m thinking of getting workbooks this time to really learn it. I do struggle with auditory processing, so learning a language is really hard for me, but I want to do it.

AND learning to read Japanese. I can read most of Hirigana, and a few letters in Katakana. When it comes to Kanji, I know probably 10-15 of them. I don’t know, I just like being able to read other alphabets. I’d like to try to learn to read Thai after, too. I taught myself to read Greek when I was a little kid, but I honestly don’t remember it at all.

I want to try to focus more on Teachers Pay Teachers, which is a website where people can make money selling teaching resources online. I made a little bit of money through it in 2024 and I think if I really put a good amount of energy into it, I can make something out of it.

Most of what I’ve done over there is reading questions for middle grade books. I’ve made them for my daughter when she was homeschooling, so it’s something I have a lot of experience with.

I’d also like to get some sort of part time job I can do from home. I have my step daughter all but maybe 3 or 4 hours a week, so I only have the time that she is in school to work.

I would love to go on walks more. I am so bad at this because I don’t want to do it when it’s too cold or too hot, but honestly I just need to get past it.

Other than that, I want to go to the Christmas Story house at the end of next year. I’ve wanted to do this for nearly a decade and my ex-husband would always discourage me from going.

Matter of fact, I want to do all the things he discouraged me to do. For instance, I finally got myself a diamond painting this year because he always discouraged me to try them. I’m now on my 3rd one and I LOVE it. I love listening to audiobooks while doing them.

Another thing I was discouraged to do was learning Korean or any language that wasn’t French. I don’t have anyone to bring me down anymore. I didn’t even realize how much this person brought me down. How much he put onto my shoulders and added to my stress. I was oblivious to how much I was struggling and I am so grateful that I get to go into 2025 without that.

And, I’d love to donate some money to charity more. I don’t have much to give, but I’d still like to help others out. I think for Christmas 2025 that I’ll do some of those Angel Tree gifts and I’ll try to find other ways to give back to the world if I can. When I’m financially able, I’d love to give to a charity every single month.

🤞2025 is going to be my best year!🤞

Right now I am reading The Lightning Thief. This is a reread for me. I’m enjoying this one, a lot. I read this for the first time about 8 years ago now, but I wasn’t expecting to have forgotten so much about it.

This week I watched Squid Game season 2. I really loved it, but I also don’t want to wait for the rest! We waited THREE YEARS for a cliffhanger.

I was excited to see TOP from Big Bang in this show. If you guys don’t know, he is a kpop idol who was cancelled in Korea for previously being a drug addict. He has turned his life around, but they are still mad about it and hated that he was in this show.

His character was so good! He was the one with the purple hair, Thanos. I love a really well thought out crazy villainous character. It was so interesting to me that he was an addict in the show and an ex kpop idol rapper. The character was almost the real person.

Also, the trans woman character being in the show was huge. I love that they included that she was kicked out of the military for being trans because it is illegal in Korea to be trans in the military, and it almost paid homage to Byun Huisu, a trans woman who was kicked out of the military there in 2021.

I can’t wait to see what they do in the last season of this show, but I also don’t want to wait for it any longer. We waited WAAAY too long for this second season.

  2. Glad to hear you are feeling better! I love to hear how you’re manifesting things for 2025 and I hope it will be an incredible year of learning, joy and success! I’m terrible with learning new languages but I’ve signed up to learn Spanish and will probably try to start Duolingo too since it’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages. Good luck with learning Korean and Japanese! 😃 Here’s to an amazing year ahead in 2025 🎉
