Joy of Christmas Book Tag

Hello readers! It’s time for another book tag post! This is the last Christmas one of the year. I love finding new ones to do every year.

If you missed any of my previous tags, make sure to check out my Book Tag Master list! In previous years we did the Christmas Carol Book Tag, Dashing Through the Snow Book Tag, and even the Winter Books Challenge Tag.

This tag was created by Booktuber Sam’s Cozy Corner.

I am so excited to read the 10th (and maybe final) book in the Wayward Children series.

I was looking into it a bit and the author said she only signed a contract for 10 books, but she does have other ideas for the series.

Either way, I’m hoping to get to this early in the year.

I would have to say Brandon Sanderson, Stephen King, and Alex Gino. These authors almost always write books I love. And Stephen King got me into reading in the first place.

How many favorite authors do you guys have? I never know when I should say someone is a favorite author. I don’t exactly have a criteria for it or anything.

I would say anything by Brandon Sanderson. If there is one thing this man will be, it’s thorough. He never leaves out a detail. My favorite by him is War breaker, which has such a cool world.

The magic system has to do with colors, there is a talking sword, and an athiest God. It’s literally so good and I hope he decides to write that sequel sometime in the near future.

One that I have wanted to get to for a long time now is Count of Monte Cristo.

This is one of those classics that over 1k pages, and if I get to it, it’ll be the longest book I’ve ever read, but I still want to do it!

I haven’t read any classics in a few years and I have a couple on my TBR in 2025. I put some on my 25 in 2025 to motivate myself to prioritize them.

Once I finish the Bill Hodges trilogy, I’d like to start on the Holly trilogy next. I have If It Bleeds, which comes second, but I need the outsider first.

Honestly, I don’t even own the Bill Hodges trilogy yet. I have so many books by this author, but I still want to own all of them one of these days.

This was such a cute book! It follows a little girl named Cici who just immigrated from Taiwan. Her grandmother is about to turn 70 and none of them can afford to fly her out to where they currently live. So, Cici joins a baking competition to win money to pay for the ticket.

It’s such a sweet and wholesome story that is just about a little girl who loves and misses her grandma.

Honestly, my favorite thing about Christmas has always been the vibes. I love what Christmas represents. To me, it represents childlike joy, hope, and even family.

I love gift giving. My favorite thing is trying to search and find the perfect gift each year. I love to find things that the person wants, but they didn’t directly tell me about. Hunting down the gift is the best part!

A memory I love is of the Twas the Night Before Christmas. I have this Coca Cola version of it from my childhood. Every year, I would read this to my parents or they would read it to me on the night of Christmas Eve.

And, I’ve been able to pass this down to my step-daughter. We do the same thing with the exact copy of the book from my childhood.

For her, the book is brought to us each year by the Elf on the Shelf, so it is a little bit different than when I was a kid. That Elf has been so fun to set up every year.
