WWW Wednesday (12/18/24)

Hello readers! It’s time for a reading update. I am reading something new this week, so let’s talk about it!

This is the third book in the cozy mystery series I started last month. I am about 40% in right now and will hopefully finish it by Friday.

This is my last week of school for the year, so I’m ready to get some reading in these last few weeks. I have so many things I hope to get to and not enough time.

I finished Incidents Around the House and it was okay. I liked some things and didn’t like others.

First, it was super creepy, which was a plus for me. The ‘other Mommy’ was actually terrifying, but I wish we got to see more of her.

The girl in this book, Bela, was eight but read more like she was 4 or 5. So many authors struggle with writing kids.

My biggest issue was the ending. I feel like we ended up in a place that wasn’t satisfying. It needed to be a little bit longer in my opinion. I think Malerman has a good book here, but it could’ve been better.

The next book I am hoping to read is Secret Santa because I’d like to get to it before Christmas. I know it’s a horror book that centers on Christmas and I think that is such a cool concept. I hope it will be good! I am not having the best luck this month with books, so we will see.

  1. I’m not a horror girlie but my curiosity has kind of been piqued by Secret Santa. Horror + Christmas sounds like an interesting combo and I hope it’s one that works for you! I’m also keen to take a bit of a break from work and spend some lazy days reading and doing nothing. 😂

    1. We all need a few days every once in a while to do absolutely nothing for sure! I am feeling the need for it a lot this month
